Sheriff’s Department Seeks Help Locating Child Missing Since April 2011

Doesn't look good for this little guy. So many things could have happened to this little one. Gave away, sold, killed. Just praying she gave him to someone who wanted a child and will take care of him, not likely though. Her mother had custody of the other kids why not Dwight? Was the grandmother overwelmed already? Did the siblings wonder where the little one was? I know its wrong but the minute I hear "boyfriend/ stepfather" I cringe in cases like these. IMO

“I just want Dwight, wherever he is or if someone has him, just to turn him in. I just want my grandson back,” Barbara Edwards, the grandmother told ABC News 10.

Barbara told the police that in the past 11 months, her daughter never gave any concrete answers when questioned about Dwight.

"She didn't tell me anything. She just said he's with someone else or being baby sat," Barbara told News 10.

Why didn't she report him missing?!? She doesn't see him in almost a year and she's OK with her daughters response that he's with someone else? The daughter has other kids. I'm assuming she saw those kids. Wasn't that a red flag something was wrong???

Another quote from the article

Deputy Jason Ramos, a department spokesman, has said the county's Child Protective Services did not file a missing person's report after 11 months of not being able to locate the baby.

So has CPS known all this time?

I think someone would have came forward with the child already. I'm thinking this probably ends with her being charged with a homicide. IMO

According to Det. McBeth-Childs, Edwards gave conflicting statements regarding Stallings's whereabouts. Edwards said the toddler is with unidentified relatives; Dwight is with unknown black Muslim women; he was taken by unknown males dressed in black; and he died due to an illness at an unknown hospital.

Edwards also claims she doesn't know how to reach the people who have Stallings. She said two women called her with updates on Stallings until December 2011.

This is all sounding very familiar

Questions Remain About How Toddler Slipped Through Cracks

Though CPS won’t tell us, the baby’s grandmother, Barbara Edwards says CPS opened the case on baby Dwight just shortly after he was born in May 2010. After seeing her grandson for the last time in April, Barbara Ewards says she recently reached out to the CPS case worker to again find out if they’d found Dwight.

That’s when she says she was told they were closing the case without ever reporting the baby missing.

The Grandmother thought CPS was taking care of her grandson. Because she wasn't a parent, CPS would have been very limited on talking with her.
