Wow, right as I was posting the thead got closed...:rocker: Here goes..thankful I was able to copy my own post...:giggle:

ABC News reported Wednesday, citing multiple sources, that the lead investigator in the case recommended Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter after the shooting, but the state attorney's office determined there was not enough evidence to lead to a conviction.

Asked about the ABC News information Wednesday, Tracy Martin said it was "heart-wrenching."

"That just lets me know from the onset that something wasn't right about the investigation," he said.

The initial police report from the incident lists the alleged offense as "homicide/negligent" and "manslaughter/unnecessary killing to prevent unlawful act." The Seminole County state attorney's office has said evidence obtained by police was insufficient for an arrest.

In a telephone interview with ABC, a woman the network identified as Martin's girlfriend said he described Zimmerman as "crazy" shortly before his death.

The girlfriend had been talking on the phone with Martin before he was shot, the Martin family's lawyer has said. She told ABC that Martin "was walking fast when he said this man (was) behind him again."

"He come and say this look like he about to do something to him," she said. "And then Trayvon come and said the man was still behind him, then I come and say, 'Run.' "

Family attorney Benjamin Crump said last week that Martin told his girlfriend he was not going to run. According to the girlfriend's account of the call, Martin asked Zimmerman, "What are you stopping me for?" To which Zimmerman replied, "What are you doing around here?"

The girlfriend said she got the impression an altercation was taking place and that someone had pushed Martin, because the headset fell out of his ear and the phone shut off, Crump said. He said that account undercut's Zimmerman's claims of self-defense.
Tracy Martin told CNN's "AC360" on Tuesday night that he believes Zimmerman racially profiled his son.

"And then, even worse, I think the police profiled Trayvon Martin," he said.

It appears Trayvon was the one in fear of his life...he knew GZ was 'stalking' him and if this girls account is to be believed...which I do believe..she had no idea that she'd never speak with Trayvon again...I hope she can defend this in a court of law..I hope the SA, ACory has spoken with her..although this could be seen as hear say...it's very important to prove GZ was the agressor...

I for one do not believe a word the girlfriend says.

Does anyone know when she found out Martin was killed? If she heard all she says she did she sure wasn't concerned enough to make sure he was alright.

/quote/ m00....What I don't understand is how those two specific phrases offer any protection against anything but the use of those two phrases. Can anyone shed some light on this? It's not like she went and trademarked his actual name, as far as I can tell. /quote/

It allows the family to send a cease and desist letter whenever anyone uses Trayvon's name in connection to this crime. People are trying to make money off of Trayvon's name claiming the money is going to the family. The family could not protect themselves before without the trademark.

These are the times in which we live....pretty sad. jmo

Tracy Martin recounts police version of son Trayvon’s death
By Sari Horwitz and Rosalind Helderman, Published: March 28

The Washington Post A police detective told the father of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin that his son initiated two confrontations with the neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot him.

Tracy Martin, describing the police version of events in a meeting Wednesday with Washington Post reporters and editors, said he did not believe the official account, which was conveyed to him two days after his 17-year-old son was killed Feb. 26. The detective’s explanation, as relayed by Martin, largely coincides with recent news reports that George Zimmerman told investigators that he shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense.

According to Tracy Martin, the Sanford, Fla., detective recounted this sequence of events: Trayvon Martin walked up to Zimmerman’s vehicle and asked why he was following him. Zimmerman denied following the youth and rolled up the car window. Minutes after Trayvon walked away, Zimmerman got out of his vehicle.

Then came the second encounter, according to Tracy Martin’s recollection of the detective’s account. Trayvon Martin appeared from behind a building in Zimmerman’s gated community, approached him and demanded, “What’s your problem, homie?”

When Zimmerman replied that he didn’t have a problem, Martin said, “You do now.” The unarmed teenager hit Zimmerman, knocked him to the ground, pinned him down and told him to “shut the [expletive] up.”

During the beating, Zimmerman pulled his gun and fired one shot at close range into Martin’s chest. “You got me,” the teenager said, falling backward.

Tracy Martin and the 17-year-old’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, said Wednesday that they have never accepted this explanation for their son’s death.

HOGWASH...or Trayvon's body would have been right beside GZ's SUV! Instead it was how many feet away, in the grass? I certainly hope this is on the initial police report and could be the reason the homicide detective was pushing for a manslaugher arrest..I just hope this doesn't prove to be a missed opportunity to arrest GZ..:maddening:

Exactly. The police need to pull her texts, phone calls and fb messages from that night. If she really thought something bad happened, did she tell ANYONE and can prove it? I don't believe a word. Why did she not reach out to anyone? And if it can be proven that she called around or texted I will change my view on this entire incident.
ETA I am not suggesting that WE sleuth her but the FBI needs to pull her records. It would certainly clear a lot up for either side, wouldn't it? It would prove that GZ started the deadly altercation and TM was completely innocent or the reverse. I think this would hold a lot more weight than TM's brother saying that TM would never do this or say that? Really? Then why was no one in the Martin household concerned when he went out for skittles and never returned? These are the questions that plague me and make me wonder and question EVERYTHING in this case.

We do not know all the details. She is also a minor and we all know we don't sleuth minors. jmo

Me too. I wonder if the brother told his father that TM never came home.

Does anybody know when TM's father and Fiance returned home for dinner?

Hogwash is right. It contradicts his own 911 call.

JMHO

Phone records obtained by ABC News show that the girl called Martin at 7:12 p.m., five minutes before police arrived, and remained on the phone with Martin until moments before he was shot.

Of course the authorities have her phone record...do you believe he'd put herself in harms way if this isn't what she heard?

I can't for the life of me understand why or how anyone can defend that wannabe GZ...he took a teens life for no reason other than what his mentality told him. He is wrong anyway you slice and dice it...

My brother is Trayvon...March 1, was 29 years since my only brother, my only sibling was shot dead and left to die in the street...6 shots to the torso with a .357 magnum...still till this day, no one has been brought to justice. I do call the cold case squad but they have no leads...and it's heartbreaking that my 23 y/o brother died right where he was shot...so, I have a Trayvon in my family and justice is not to be had...for me..for us...for my brother. How insensitive it is to think Trayvon got what he deserved for what happened in school..that has nothing to do with what happened this fateful night. As always, dirt is dug up to make one person look better than the other..doesn't justify Trayvon's murder...

No one has a right to take someone's life...no school suspensions, no baggie with weed residue, no jewelry in a back pack, makes it right to murder someone for how the other precieves his look..GZ knew nothing of this child, Trayvon. Nothing but walking home and never making it home, makes it more egregious for me. By the calls GZ placed to the police, his mentality shows, his alleged racial slur, puts this beyond the pale for me...Trayvon is everyone's child..it could have been anyone that GZ determined was up to no good...

I believe everything GZ's father said, Trayvon said, should be applied to his son. Homie, you're going to die tonight, you got me! Is this some western program I'm watching?

He thought this would 'blow over', as if parents would just take what the police told them. I am so happy they did not accept this as a 'stand your ground' case...It was unbalanced from the start with GZ trolling the streets with a loaded gun under the guise of being in a neighborhood watch program..which according to the founder of those watch groups, GZ broke cardinal rules...

I pray for justice for Trayvon Martin :please:

I am sorry for your brother's incident. However, if what the gf said is true, why did she not reach out to anyone that night? Are you telling me that she overheard a deadly confrontation, heard the phone get dropped and go silent and then couldn't reach her bf at all that night and didn't do anything about it? IMO she encouraged TM to go after GZ and then the altercation occurred. She did not reach out to anyone because she didn't want TM to get in trouble with the police for harming GZ. I haven't seen anything that points to that TM did not attack GZ. He's not been arrested because eyewitnesses at the scene saw TM on top. So, no, I don't see that it is so clear cut. This isn't some giant conspiracy. moo

Fortunately, CNN is on the case, and had their audio specialist isolate the 1.6 seconds involved, modify it so background noise was removed, and played it back. And while the CNN anchor involved declined to state definitively whether the slur was used, both the editor and the anchor said it sounded an awful lot like it was, especially when the word alone was isolated. Mediaite discovered the segment and linked it. You can watch and decide for yourself below:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/cnn...mmerman-911-call-racial-slur-now-very-likely/

I posted this in the other thread..I believe this is very clear here..I hear it clearly...according to this the police claim they missed this...

Please listen and let me know if you hear what I do hear and it's a C...

We shouldn't sleuth her but the FBI should. She's the last person who talked to him and also supposedly on the phone with him while it was happening. And it appears that she didn't reach out to anyone that night. WHY?

She's a minor. We don't have any first hand knowledge of what she told anyone sleuthing her is not appropriate. Let the FBI do their job and we all need to let the sleuthing part go. If she comes out with an official statement then we can ask the mods about discussing it but for now, what she did, why she did, when she did it....all unknowns and discussing it sounds like sleuthing to me. She is not involved in any crime. jmo

She's a 15 y/o! Has she ever been involved in something like this? How frightening for her, isnt' it? That she's talking to him one minute and the next minute she's dead? I can't blame her for not trying to find out if Trayvon was okay..I can't blame her at all..she's doing the right thing now by stepping up...

If the police had Trayvon's phone, did they go through it to see who the last person was he spoke with? Especially so close to the time he was murdered?
Did they seek her out?

http://newsone.com/nation/kirstensavali/trayvon-martins-brother-i-cant-believe-hes-gone/

It did my heart good to watch the brother speak. He's a well-dressed well-spoken young man with a good head on his shoulders. He was honest about his take-away from the 911 call, saying he couldn't be sure about what he heard - and how horrible for him to have to listen to it.

He belies the disgusting insinuations about the Martin family's parenting skills. He has braces, not a grill. He's in school. He's articulate. So as far as the Martin's raising "troubled" thuggish neer-do-wells, I think we can put that one to bed immediately. I know the brother is not Trayvon, but the brother is a product of the Martin family.

We don't but Crump would be all over releasing her texts that night as proof. It certainly would bolster the case against GZ. :moo

One would imagine this child has parents who are protecting her from this ****storm that has broken around her. One would imagine that there is every possibility that this child's parents have also lawyered up to effect that protection. She shouldn't need protection, but apparently she doesn't get to be immune from insinuations (i.e. of lying) either.

What was she supposed to do? The phone dropped. We have NO idea who she called or what she did after it happened. We DO KNOW she was hospitalized when she found out he was dead because she was so traumatized.
What do you suggest Trayvon told her minutes before his death?
"I'm gonna walk up to this vehicle and beat a man" ?
