CA - Shabnam Admadyar, 15, Elk Grove, 30 Mar 2012

Police are seeking the public's help in finding an at-risk teen who they said went missing in Elk Grove on Friday.

Elk Grove police said Shabnam Admadyar, 15, walked away from her home in the 4800 block of Chamberlin Circle at about 4:30 p.m.

Officers said Admadyar has been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic and functions below her age level.

Police said the search is being concentrated in the area of Hood-Franklin, where Admadyar was last observed on store surveillance Friday night.

On Saturday, investigators said they found clothing belonging to the victim located on a boat ramp near the 10900 block of River Road along the Sacramento River.

A U.S. Coast Guard boat crew and helicopter, along with a California Air National Guard Blackhawk helicopter are aiding in this extensive search. Sacramento Diving and Accident Rescue Teams have also been dispatched to assist.

Oh No! That poor girl. Schizophrenia is such a debilitating disease. There's no telling what was going on in her head, and she would've been very vulnerable out on the streets by herself.
The clothes that were found by the river is especially worrisome.

I hope and pray that this girl is found unharmed.

Poor girl. She left her home Friday afternoon. LE didn't state how much of her clothing was found at a boat ramp. Did she jump into that cold river for some reason known only to herself. Did someone aboard a boat toss her clothing there after leaving a helpless unclothed victim somewhere else in the Sacramento river. Did someone abduct the girl somewhere on land and leave the clothing at the boat ramp to throw investigators off the trail. I hope there is a better explanation for the clothing and that this girl is found safe and unharmed.

Why is Elk Grove sounding familiar to me? Was there another incident there recently, or am I mistaken (which is *always* a possibility)?

    In any event...

I send love and prayers to the searchers, and to her. She sounds very vulnerable, and p'schiz is a hard, hard disease to control, to function with, and to cope with daily life with.

God bless each and every one.

When you find yourself in the position to help somebody, do not feel burdened. Rather, feel happy and blessed because God is answering that person's prayer through you. In that moment, you are God's Angel - His door to reach through and bring light to someone who is struggling in the darkness.

Be God's Light. Be God's love. Be an answered prayer. Be God's Door.

I found this -- Dwight Stallings, 22 mo., has not been seen since April 2011. Sacramento County Sheriff's Dept has been working with the Elk Grove Police Department and Child Protective Services to find him.

    Search Scaled Back

The search for an at-risk missing teen, Shabnam Ahmadyar, has been scaled back today.

The search for the mentally ill teen is not over, an Elk Grove Police Department spokesman said. It his hoped that a helicopter will assist volunteers and officers on the ground today.

"We are going to keep some of the resources out there working," said Elk Grove police spokesman Chris Trim.

Trim said the family told officers that the teen liked the water but could not swim.

UPDATE: Reinforcements added in search for missing teen girl
    http://elkgrove.news10.net/news/news...sing-teen-girl
Just when I think that I have seen the most depraved things a human can do to another human, somebody posts a new story...........

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?

    Body Found

Divers from the Sacramento Diving and Accident Rescue Team discovered the body of a female matching Ahmadyar's description submerged in the water 10 to 15 feet away from the dock where her clothes were found Saturday, near the 10900 block of River Road, police said.

They said family members have been notified, and the coroner will perform an autopsy on the body to determine the cause of death. Police have previously said there were no signs of foul play in Ahmadyar's disappearance.
