Circumstances of Disappearance

Cheryl disappeared from Ontario, Canada in 1974. She left her residence around 18:30 to walk down Bloomington Side Road to her cousin's home 10 minutes away. She never arrived.

Thousands of volunteers, including police, CB radio operators, aircraft and Queen's York militia units, scoured the region for weeks in an unprecedented search of York Region. Cheryl Anne was never found.

Convicted murderer Donald Everingham confessed to several murders, including that of Cheryl Hanson. He described Cheryl's clothes and drew a crude map of where he'd thrown her body. But the newspapers had been full of Cheryl's description and extensive police searches in the area he indicated never uncovered her body.

Donald Everingham's confession was eventually refuted.

Cold Case Files: Family seeks closure after 7-year-old girl goes missing 42 years ago

http://globalnews.ca/news/3029105/cold-case-files-family-seeks-closure-after-7-year-old-girl-goes-missing-42-years-ago/

Cheryl packed her pajamas in a brown paper bag, put on her white leather shoes and red overcoat and walked down her driveway towards her cousin’s house.

“I had a terrible feeling after she had gone,” Cheryl’s mother Patricia Hanson said.

“I called up and said, ‘Did she get there?’ and they said no she’s not here yet. I went running up the road. I thought she might have been hit by a car or something and that was it. I never saw her again.”

“We have had several witnesses at the time that had seen different vehicles in the area. We have a witness that say they saw a girl with red hair walking down the street when they looked out their window but made nothing of it at the time,” said Det. Bob Athwal.

“It’s our opinion that she was abducted and met with foul play. To this date, Cheryl has never been located and there has never been any sightings of Cheryl Hanson.”

Donald Harry Everingham confessed to Cheryl's abduction and murder but later recanted when investigators took him for a ride to locate her body.

“He never gave us an alibi as to where he was in and around that time,” Athwal said. “At best, Donald Everingham remains a person of interest.”

Everingham is currently living in a mental health facility.

COLD CASE: Pregnant and murdered — Dianna Singh found in King
"Dianna Singh was a 21-year-old from Guyana, she had one daughter and was pregnant prior to being discovered murdered near a secluded and wooded King laneway off 15th Sideroad near Keele Street 100 metres east of Seneca Campus"

"The individuals who commented on her murder online say what they find most disturbing about the site where she was located is that another body was found nearby and a third person went missing in very close proximity.

Those include Yvonne Leroux who was found two years earlier between Jane and Keele streets, in a similar state — clothed from the waist up, naked from the waist down. Cheryl Hanson, 7, meanwhile disappeared while walking on Bloomington Sideroad while walking three months before Dianna was found on May 31, 1974."

I wonder if investigators examined Calvin Hoover the murderer of Christine Jessop, as possible murderer of Cheryl and Dianna Singh.
