snip....Holland is serving a double life sentence in the Maine State Prison in Warren for the shooting deaths of brothers Derek and Gage Greene in 2009 outside Holland's home in Biddeford.

snip...."Mr. Cote then turned over the videotapes and the computer to the police investigating the (Greene) murders," wrote Silver.

Cote also handed over several drawings of naked women that had belonged to Holland.

Why?

"He believes that at least some of those drawings link Holland to various women who have been reported missing as well as various unsolved homicides," says a document in the court file.

So what happened to the evidence turned over to LE? Is there really any evidence of him being a serial killer?
I wonder what happened with everything he turned over to LE? And were the drawings actually representing real murders or fantasies?

Now that the info is in the public domain, maybe the family's of the unsolved murders might contact LE to see if there are any leads to their case in the info.

Since the court ruled that the attorney overstepped his bounds, would that mean that any evidence he obtained would be barred from being used against him? Fruit of the poisonous tree kind of thing?

Hmmmm. The city is making plans to buy his property

Yeah, I don't think that this evidence could be used - that whole "fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine. Mostly, I've seen that applied in cases with an impermissible search by LE in the cases we've read in school. I've never seen this situation where the attorney turned over the info. It's pretty rare, since it is overstepping attorney-client privilege. I feel for the attorney in this case, it sounds like a tricky situation. Maybe one of our verified lawyers could answer for sure, but I'm thinking that this evidence, or anything they uncover based on this evidence, probably couldn't be used in court.

Holland, 56, of Biddeford, was accused of shooting Gage Greene, 19, and his brother, Derek Greene, 21, on the sidewalk outside their home on South Street in Biddeford.

Holland was convicted of attempting to murder his 16-month-old daughter in Kansas in the 1970s.

As a victim of racism, Holland saw his property vandalized repeatedly. People spray-painted racial slurs on his fence and paraded past his house wearing Ku Klux Klan-style sheets.

Holland also had a reputation for intimidation, and for provoking conflict with people he met while hanging around municipal meetings and in district court, where he often gave advice to defendants.

Holland and his defense attorneys have never denied that he shot the Greene brothers, but Holland said he feared for his life and shot them in self defense.
