After 20 days, no news about missing mom

It has been 20 days since the mother of five promised her young children she would take them trick-or-treating and walked out the front door of their Hollywood home, never to return.

Heather Klett's family lives in quiet agony, waiting for the slightest shred of information on the night-shift waitress' whereabouts as the days drag into the holiday season. Relatives try to shield Klett's children, ages 10 months to 9 years, from any heartache, but the older ones know something is wrong. Klett's aunt -- the woman who raised her -- said some of the children keep asking, "When is mommy coming home?"

Virginia Sarno, the aunt, fears what the answer might be, and so do Hollywood police detectives.

Klett's disappearance is being treated by police as a probable kidnapping-murder case with her ex-boyfriend, the father of her three youngest children, under scrutiny, according to search warrants made public this week.

Klett, 27, was last seen with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Morgan Bolanos, in the early-morning hours of Oct. 31, not long after he snipped off an electronic ankle monitor and violated a court order preventing him from contacting her, court records state. Bolanos had been on house arrest after being released from jail on bail while awaiting trial on charges he choked Klett, leaving her hospitalized for 10 days, according to court documents.

Bolanos, 25, vanished Nov. 1, resurfacing 10 days later when he was arrested in the Orlando area, court documents show.

One search warrant states "it is apparent that Morgan Bolanos has knowledge or is directly responsible for Heather Klett's disappearance" based on the couple's history, the snipped ankle monitor and his flight from South Florida.
