I'm sorry but the smirk on this mug shot really got to me, this POC nearly beat his 7 week old baby to death and he grins? really? Please someone knock the smile off his pathetic face.

Update posted Friday, October 7 at 7:01 a.m.:

- Joshua Schulker, 22, of West Harrison pleaded not guilty to charges that he fractured his 7-week-old's skull, fractured her ribs which resulted in a lacerated liver.

It was Sunday when Schulker was left alone with his daughter while his girlfriend and the mother of the child went to work. In a statement to police Schulker said that the child's great grandmother came over and asked if he could hear the child crying. He answered 'yes' and said he was changing her and shut the door.

A short time later, Schulker said his girlfriend called him and said that the grandmother wanted him to bring her the child before dark or she would call the police.

Later when the baby's mother came home she noticed an injury to the child's head and decided that the baby should be brought to Children's Hospital.
That's where physicians said they found six broken ribs and one rib that had been broken but had since begun to heal.

Schulker's story, according to Prosecutor Aaron Negangard, changed several times but said that the child squirmed on the changing table and hit her head on the wall.

The seven-week-old daughter was taken from her home on Chappelow Ridge Road in West Harrison to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati on Monday. Doctors found that the baby had a fractured skull, six broken ribs, and a lacerated liver.

Police interviewed the father and boyfriend of the mother, 22-year-old Joshua Schulkers. He said he possibly caused the baby harm while watching her alone Monday. It was the mother's first day back at work since giving birth.

Negangard said, "The evidence indicates that there's no other explanation for these injuries than child abuse and we're confident in that from the Children's Hospital staff that that's a correct diagnosis."

The doctors said the infant’s injuries could have been fatal if she had not been taken to the hospital.

15 years? He'll be 37 when he gets out. That's not justice. He will certainly procreate again (or find some woman with no self esteem who brings him into her home with her children) and in 15 years another child will be in harm's way.

With the usual half time he will probably do only about 7 years.

infuriating isn't it...
