Also on the 15th, sorry I left out the date and I can't edit the title of my thread.

I thought our previous weather threads on severe weather were very helpful and quite amazing. This Friday and Saturday we have the potential for tornadoes, hail, floods and damaging winds.

By the way my nephew's business and apartment were fine but his car was damaged and he had to get another.

Here is an awesome link for weather updates.

Hoping all our members use good sense and stay safe this weekend. My area is not expecting severe weather but simply garden variety storms.

For those who are expecting a rough go, take care friends.

Good info if you will be traveling through Kansas today or tomorrow.

Drivers can use storm shelters along Kansas Turnpike route

Most motorists don’t realize it, but nearly 30 public tornado shelters are scattered along the length of the Kansas Turnpike.

That knowledge may prove particularly valuable later this week, when severe weather is forecast to threaten large chunks of the state — including the turnpike’s path.

The shelters are located at toll plazas and service areas, said Lisa Callahan, a spokeswoman for the Turnpike Authority.

The turnpike has service areas in Belle Plaine, Towanda, Matfield Green, Emporia, Topeka and Lawrence. Most of the storm shelters are located in restrooms of the main buildings of the service areas.

Tornadoes and baseball-sized hail possible in a line running from OKC to Salina KS on Saturday.

Addendum: just got this in an email from my best friend, in Wichita:
The weather men, that I am friends with on Facebook, are going ape-s h i t warning everybody to have a plan. The Weather Channel places the highest risk to be the area from Salina to Dallas and from Fredonia to Joplin to Springfield.
I've taken pictures of all the rooms upstairs so I can file insurance claims with photo proofs.
(For non-midwesterners, Salina's in Kansas as is Fredonia [had my first teaching job in that nice little town!] and Joplin and Springfield are in MO.)

I'm about 25 miles north of Wichita, and, yeah, the weather people and storm spotters are going CRAZY. They say they haven't seen something like this since 2007.

I was supposed to be out of town this weekend, I'm glad we are not going because I would be a nervous wreck.

I have a basement all prepped with candles, water etc. I bought another cat carrier so that I can have one for each cat. That's the best idea I can think of for my kitties to keep them safe and with me.

The weather channel has more info on today and tonight.

Areas in dark red are overnight threats...look out if you are living in Kansas and Oklahoma and at the top northeast of Texas.

Also the TorCon index.

The TOR:CON values range from 0 to 10. A value of 4 means that there is about a 40% chance of a tornado within 50 miles of a location in the specified area of severe thunderstorm activity.

:blowkiss: Hi sweetie!

I will be safe and I'll check in. Hoping to get some good pictures! With my luck, it will all happen after dark--which I hate because I can't see something coming.

Everyone in the line of fire, stay cautious and check in when you can! panic>> :heartbeat:

Thanks for those links. I'm in Eastern Mo and it looks like we are very low on the scale. Prayers for all those in the line of fire. <3

LOL! I kinda like the wine plan ;) You should come down. We'd have fun :)

I'd rather my own part of this small Oklahoma town be hit than for Joplin - where last May over 160 died - to take another disaster. I pray their safety from devastation.

Wow. Schools are cancelling games and activities for tonight.
