New thread for a new day. Please remember the rules

:tos:

When posting an opinion please remember to use IMO or JMO.

the crown will present its case in chapters:

Chapter 1: The day of the kidnapping. The surveillance video showing Rafferty driving up the street outside Tori's school and McClintic walking Tori up the street. Witnesses from and around Oliver Stephens public school will talk about seeing Tori.
An identification officer will use photographs and maps to show the route from Woodstock to Guelph.
Tori's mother, Tara McDonald, will testify about the frantic hours the family spent looking for Tori.

Chapter 2: Terri-Lynne McClintic. "She was an essential part of all that happened," Gowdey said. "I expect her credibility will be a major issue in this case."

Chapter 3: Guelph -- video surveillance and bank records detailing the events there.

Chapter 4: the Mount Forest death scene, which the jury will visit. "It will be difficult to go to the very place where this happened, I know that, but understanding the crime scene is crucial to understanding the crime," Gowdey said. Photographs, some of them graphic, will be used to explain "exactly how the killing happened."
"Unfortunately it is only through them that you can fully understand (the) evidence," Gowdey said.

Chapter 5: Police interaction with Rafferty.

Chapter 6: The searches of Rafferty and McClintic's residences and the evidence found.

Chapter 7: The Honda Civic. What was found inside.

Chapter 8: Rafferty's connection to the Mount Forest area.

Chapter 9: Comments Rafferty made to friends after April 8. "He had some interesting things to say to other people about Terri-Lynne McClintic and about the kidnapping itself," Gowdey said.

Chapter 10: The May 15 weekend and Rafferty's actions.

Chapter 11: The BlackBerry. The BlackBerry allowed police to track his movements April 8 and after.

Chapter 12: A recap of the surveillance video.

Salem's warning from last week:
Okay everybody - LISTEN UP! We are not bashing, accusing or blaming Tori's family here. It won't be allowed.
Children walk home from school every day without incident. Parents are not perfect, it's just not possible. Tori's parents DID NOT do this to her. TLM and an accomplice DID. That is where the blame goes.
We had a lot of family bashing in the early parts of this investigation after Tori went missing and a lot of baseless accusations - NONE OF WHICH PROVED TO BE TRUE. Victim and family bashing will not be allowed during this trial.
Thank you,
Salem

Are we on Chapter 11 r.e. the Blackberry already? Or is it still Chapter 10: the May 15 weekend? It turns out that weekend wasn't like what some people expected, I think. JMO

I'm lost. We didn't finish the Mt. Forest Chapter yet or did we? There were supposed to be 8 additional witnesses to that chapter, IIRC. Only 2 testified yesterday, I think. Then there were legal issues and we jumped to May 15 and the Blackberry.

Hopefully, Mike Knoll from LFP will set things straight.

I am guessing if you were on MTR phone list; LE has been snoofing you. MOO

Rafferty buys stuff for girlfriend’s kids
COURT: Girlfriend helps details days before arrest

May 11: Rafferty went to Corey's Auto Wreckers in London, signing in at 3:05 p.m. and leaving an hour later. He didn't buy anything. McClintic testified earlier that Tori was kept hidden, and later raped in the backseat of Rafferty's 2003 Honda Civic. The car had no backseat bench when he was arrested.

May 14: Rafferty went to the Bell store in Masonville Place to exchange his BlackBerry. That eventually led to police getting billing information that showed Rafferty made calls from Mount Forest the evening of April 8, 2009. Tori's body was found in the Mount Forest area July 19, 2009.

May 15: Rafferty told Woods he was late for a shopping trip to Port Huron because he had to visit an 18-year-old girl in court. McClintic was 18 at the time and had a court hearing that day. In Port Huron, Rafferty "was pretty adamant he wanted to find . . . specific pair of Puma shoes," Woods testified. Jurors have heard Rafferty gave McClintic a pair of Puma shoes after directing her to throw out her own after Tori was killed. After Woods dropped Rafferty off at his house, police arrived and questioned him about his connection to McClintic.

May 19: Rafferty called Woods four times from White Oaks Mall in London asking for her dress and shoe sizes. "He always wanted to buy stuff for me . . . and wanted to buy (my) kids stuff," she said. He also went to Masonville Place to hand in the old BlackBerry and pick up a loaner. The data on the old BlackBerry had been wiped clean by RIM by the time police found it, but police obtained billing records.

Rafferty called Woods about 7 p.m. to arrange to meet in a parking lot in Woodstock to drop off the gifts. He got into her car with several bags of gifts.

"Not a clue," Woods testified when asked why she thought Rafferty was arrested.

The trial continues Wednesday.

Rafferty's phone records reveal location

After dating for a month, they went on a shopping trip to Michigan on May 15.

Rafferty arrived late that day, saying he was at a court appearance for a troubled teenaged girl, although he didn't say if it was his former girlfriend Terri-Lynne McClintic, who has already pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in Stafford's death.

On the shopping trip, Woods said Rafferty was looking for a specific kind of Puma shoes but couldn't find them. Police found Puma shoes in McClintic's home.

Case against Rafferty nearing final chapter

The Crown trying Michael Rafferty for first-degree murder is reaching the final chapters in its case.

On Tuesday jurors heard evidence about his activities in the days before his arrest May 19, 2009.

It's not clear how long that chapter is expected to last.

Next up is evidence from cell phone towers.

According to the Crown's opening statement there are only a few chapters left in its case.

I wonder if he was late by an hour to meet JW because he was being interviewed by police but told JW he was in court.

Does crown get a rebuttal to defense? Possible crown will save some info for rebuttal purposes?? JMO

Did he really go to the court dates or is that a lie? What about the jail house visits and possible phone conversations? Were those recorded?

So many questions.......
