TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police are searching for a 6-year-old girl who went missing from her home on the city's east side.

Isabel Mercedes Celis was last seen late Friday and discovered to be missing at about 8 a.m. Saturday.

Sgt. Maria Hawke says police are searching the area around East Broadway Boulevard and Craycroft Road using street patrols, canines, detectives and a helicopter.

She's described as just under 4-feet-tall and weighing 44 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

The girl has not been seen since she went to bed at 11 p.m. Friday, Hawke said. Her father went into her bedroom at 8 Saturday morning, found her missing and called police.

An Amber Alert has been issued, Hawke said.

Authorities say the child went missing Saturday from a home on the 5700 block of East 12th Street, near Broadway Blvd. and Craycroft Road.

At this time, according to police, 12th Street is closed. Acquaintances of the family say the missing girl's name is Isabel Mercedes Celis. She is 6 years old.

Family members believe the 6-year-old was kidnapped from her bedroom in her bed early Saturday morning.

There are 17 RSO's nearby her house. Of those 17, 8 are high-risk level 3 predators. Also, almost every one of them has offenses of child molestation or possessing child *advertiser censored*. :(

She is a beautiful little girl. Prayers she is safe!

wow.. but how do they know she was abducted vs.left the house on her own? There must be signs of forced entry or something along those lines?

I keep seeing amber alerts mentioned. There's a few little parks in that area too. I don't doubt empty repo homes too. This doesn't sound good at all. Our oldest lived in that area a few years ago. Not too bad of a neighborhood really. All of Tucson has it's fair share.
