LE
Tom Bergamine - Fayetteville Police Chief - stated they had reason to believe Kelli was in grave danger

PERSONS MENTIONED IN MSM

Nick Holbert - RSO (crimes against a child) - last person seen with Kelli alive. Police questioned Nick twice in relation to Kelli's disappearance. Nick has since been arrested for violating the state's Sex Offender Registry by failing to register a change of address at the Sheriff's Office and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Nick was known to hang around the bar, reported to live behind it in a tent or lean-to. Nick states that he met Kelli and her friend Justin at the bar several weeks before her disappearance. He asked if he could play pool with them. Holbert states that on the day of her disappearance, he picked Kelli up, they went to Froggy's, then later she asked him to drive her home to her appartment.
"Around one, one-thirty, she told me 'I'm tired. I want to go home.' I said 'Okay,' so we got in the car and as soon as I pulled into Meadowbrook, she said 'You stop right here and let me out. I'll walk,'" said Holbert.

The spot Holbert said he dropped off Bordeaux is about a quarter mile from her apartment on Water Trail Drive. He told ABC11 he figured there might be someone at the apartment she didn't want him to see, so he left.

Steven Cantrell - owner of Froggy Bottoms bar - arrested Monday, April 23 on unrelated charges. Failure to appear for DUI and outstanding child support. Cantrell was not present at the bar the night Kelli went missing.

Key quotes from MSM reports from LE, family, and friends:

Bergamine said records show her cell phone pinged off towers near the North Ramsey corridor, which led them to search the I-295 area.

Wednesday afternoon, Fayetteville Police and Cumberland County Sheriff's investigators searched the area of a pond near Dobbin Holmes Road in Eastover as well as the I-295 area.

Bergamine confirmed in a press conference Wednesday night that police did search in the Dobbin Holmes Road area after receiving an undisclosed tip.

Bergamine says Bordeaux's husband was not with her at the bar that night and he is cooperating with authorities.

MB
He added that he is cooperating with detectives and has been advised by police to not talk with media.

He was out at the search site Wednesday morning, but says authorities told him it would be best if he left in case anything was found that they wouldn't want him to see.

Bordeaux’s mother, Johnna Henson, said she had been told by police that an individual gave her daughter a ride to the bar, where she took part in karaoke. Henson told HLN’s Jane Velez-Mitchell on Tuesday that her daughter was “spooked” while someone was driving her home, and that Bordeaux reportedly told the driver to let her out before she reached her apartment. Henson said she does not believe her daughter arrived home.

The tip about the pond was one of many received on a new hotline. People with information about the case should call (910) 433-1114.

"The hotline that was established today has yielded numerous telephone calls with information being relayed to our detectives, who are actively working this case," said Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine. "I feel our people are absolutely working at 100 percent. We've had a lot a lot of assistance from the military, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, which is enhancing everyone's efforts."

Matt Henson
Her two-year marriage to Mike Bordeaux also was solid, Henson said. Mike Bordeaux, who isn't in the military, was in Florida at the time of his wife's disappearance.

Henson said he last communicated with his sister on April 11, when they exchanged text messages. He urged reporters not to cast his sister in a negative light, including suggesting that she went absent without leave, saying she was "more than a story" to her family.

The tent where Holbert lived is no longer behind the bar, but Fayetteville Police Chief Thomas Bergamine would not say if it had been confiscated for evidence.

The bar's owner -- who would not give his name -- said Bordeaux was at the bar with Holbert.

The bar owner said a tab for $28 from Friday night was attributed to Holbert and Bordeaux, although he said Holbert does not drink. The tab was $28 for four shots and four beers.

"I drove up here from Fort Stewart when I found out," said Bordeaux's sister, Olivia Cox. "My best friend and I drove up here and went to the police station, and we've just been doing everything we can. I just want my sister, Kelli Bordeaux, brought back safe and sound. I just want my sister."

Neighbors said her family members have gone through much pain in the past few years after losing their father to cancer.
Diane Suchanoff's family spoke with Kelli Bordeaux's mother as she was driving to Fayetteville.
"She's scared, and she's worried. She has no idea what could have happened. I feel very sorrowful, a lot of sorrow for the family," Suchanoff said.

Kelli Bordeaux's mother, Johanna Henson, spoke to CNN's Headline News Network on Tuesday night.
"I don't think she got home from the bar, and supposedly the person who dropped her off ... something supposedly spooked her in the car," Johnna Henson said. "She didn't want to get out of the car, yet she got out of the car, and that's the part I don't understand. If something spooked her, why would she get out of the car?"

Military officials said Kelli Bordeaux made phone calls and sent text messages after she left the bar and gave no indication she was in trouble.

^ phone calls, too? Hadn't heard that before.

The owner of Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville, where a missing Fort Bragg soldier was last seen, was arrested Monday on outstanding warrants unrelated to the soldier's disappearance, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Steven Cantrell, 49, of the 300 block of Lynn Avenue, had outstanding warrants for failing to appear in a Cumberland County courtroom on a driving while impaired charge in 2001.

FBI agents also had warrants for Cantrell's arrest in Boston for failing to pay $400,000 in child support payments to three different women, sheriff's officials said.

Cantrell paid a $500 bond for the Cumberland County charges Monday and was being held on a detainer out of Boston, authorities said.

The brother of missing Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Marie Bordeaux said Monday that her close friend in Florida received a text message from her phone on the morning she disappeared: "Got home safely."

Matt Henson said he doesn't believe his sister sent the message, or one to the same friend about an hour earlier saying she was getting a ride home with a man.

Henson said his sister, Holbert and the family friend, identified only as Justin, met for the first time a week or two before her disappearance.

Henson said Justin was in Fayetteville to visit Bordeaux. The two had been friends since Bordeaux and her family moved about 20 miles from Orlando, Fla., to the small town of St. Cloud in 1996 to escape escalating crime problems.

Henson said he is suspicious that his sister sent the text message to Justin because it doesn't appear that she ever made it home.

Henson said Holbert has acknowledged that he picked up Bordeaux in his car and took her home.

Holbert also told the television station that he only recently met Bordeaux and her friend, whom he did not identify.

"She came into Froggy Bottoms a couple of weeks ago with a friend - male friend - and they was drinking and playing pool," the station quoted Holbert. "And I asked if I could get next on the pool game. They said yes, and that's how I met them, playing pool at the bar."

Still compiling. We can add key quotes as we go.

VOH.
How many hours a day did NH normally spend at the bar?

If you are living in a tent there seems like there would be ample hours in the day where you would need to find projects to keep you busy. I mean you aren't just hanging out watching tv or doing laundry.

Does NH have family in the area and do you know how their relationship is?
