LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A three-year-old boy shot and killed his 15-month-old sister in their home in Radcliff, Ky., Sunday afternoon, police said.

"It appears the three-year-old sibling had gotten a pistol from somewhere in the home, was playing with it, and in playing with it, it discharged a single round."

I don't know Kentucky law, but, morally, it is not an "accidental shooting" when an adult leaves a loaded gun where a 3-year-old can get to it.

here's another recent case -a friend of mine knows the grandmother- where several kids were playing and found a gun and an 11-yr-old was killed:

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A family is dealing with the heartbreak of losing a little boy after a tragedy over the weekend.

An 11-year-old was accidentally shot and killed Sunday when he and a group of children got hold of a gun.

One of the boys started playing with it and it went off, officials said. The bullet ricocheted off a door and hit Alex.

WHY can't these parents / gun owners keep their guns properly stored/locked away? WHAT is so difficult about this concept?

is it laziness? lack of proper education and training re: gun handling? "it can't happen to me/my family" mentality? ???

So sorry this is completely off topic from this tragedy, but i was reading the bottom of your post...
i stopped following the Baby Lisa case for a while, cuz it was so sad and exausting....
i might sound stupid...but her parents have a CHOICE not to be interviewed seperatly????? WHY???? Who or what gives them that right? I don't get that at all. Put them in seperate rooms w/out any food or water and interview them. Make them talk till they pass out! I know i'm in the wrong place. But i didn't know they were still refusing OR even had the right to! That pisses me off so bad! :banghead: Put them both in jail. Someone will talk! UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

soyesterday-- ITA but i guess b/c they haven't been charged with anything they can't be hauled in to talk to LE... and even if they were charged and hauled in, they could still keep quiet... iirc, the ramsey attorneys kept them from being interviewed for months following jonbenet's death... at least these parents went in for questioning... but it was this same questioning that exposed all the contradictions to LE and people who were watching the case... i only hope LE is able to obtain what they need to move this case along... it's been SEVEN months!!
