THE family of Allison Baden-Clay has not given up hope of finding the missing Brookfield mother alive and reuniting her with her "three beautiful little girls".

Police and SES volunteers working out of a command centre at nearby Brookfield Showgrounds ramped up their search around the family home and neighbouring properties in their hunt for the 43-year-old, who was last seen by her husband Gerard about 10pm last Thursday.

BROOKFIELD residents have told of hearing a woman's screams that became muffled as if a hand was placed over her mouth the night Allison Baden-Clay vanished.

The elements that finally gave up the location of Mrs Baden-Clay would now act as vital clues in solving her murder.

The search for the missing mother-of-three ended yesterday at 11am when a canoeist discovered a woman's body on the bed of Kholo Creek, not far from where it joins the Brisbane River at Anstead in the city's west.

That officially began the hunt for Mrs Baden-Clay's killer.

The Courier-Mail understands the body had no visual signs of foul play but police are treating the incident as a homicide.

    The Courier-Mail also understands:

    • The search for clues will take in a Scout camp upstream from where Mrs Baden-Clay's body was found.

    • Police are hopeful of finding her mobile phone after narrowing the location of the key missing item to an area spanning 150m.

    • Police believe the killer could have taken Mrs Baden-Clay's body to the area as early as 8pm on Thursday April 19.

With the body now positively identified, forensic experts are working to determine the cause of death of the 43-year-old mother of three, who went missing from her Brookfield home on April 19.

A large contingent of SES volunteers and police set up camp at the scout grounds on Tuesday, scouring a massive area of bushland adjoining Kholo Creek, where the body was found, as well as Little Ugly Creek and Flaggy Creek.

THE hunt for the killer of Brookfield mum Allison Baden-Clay continues, with investigators tight-lipped about whether their recent focus on a Brisbane roundabout has generated any new leads.
