Toddler Falls From Roof While Home Alone

Evelyn Hiler aged 21 went out. The Racine woman left her two year old son alone. The baby climbed from a bedroom window onto the roof and then fell from the roof. A passerby in the AM hours found the little guy wandering the street crying and bleeding.

Not the first time Evelyn P Hiler got locked up. Can you imagine that?

One would imagine baby boy was not supervised for many hours while she got her hair done. That's high hair.

“If the allegations in the complaint are true, they’re very concerning,” Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch said.

Poor buddy. I'm so sorry you weren't protected like you should have been and I'm so thankful you did not die.

I pray that Child Services does not fail you and that you have a chance to grow up safely and with all the love and care you deserve.

Dang Flutterby, you're fast and smart.

I looked at the mugshot and was trying to figure out what she was convicted of. Thanks!

This happened here in my hometown a few weeks ago too. The baby was left alone, fell out a second story window and was found by a neighbor. They arrested that mother too, thankfully. I think that the little one in that case died, but I'm not sure.

I hate to see stuff like this. It's not that hard to get someone to watch your kids or to take them with you. If you can't do one of those two things, guess what, you don't get to leave. That's parenting and it's life after kids, and sometimes it sucks, but that doesn't give these selfish people the right to leave their kids to fend for themselves while they go do whatever it is that they wanted to do.
    JMO. Unless there's a link, I can't prove it.

found her son bleeding and wandering outside at about 12:40 a.m

Not 9 or 10 in the morning. Just after midnight.

As police officers were canvassing the neighborhood trying to locate the child’s parent or guardian, an officer spoke with Hiler about the injured child who was found, Pavilonis said. However, Hiler told police she had no children, Schneider said.
But an hour later, Hiler contacted the police, Pavilonis said. She had been out looking for her son, he said.
She then told police she just had left “for a minute” — which is when the boy ventured onto the roof and fell from it, Pavilonis said.

(my bolding & red ink above)

BTW, from the mugshots link above, some puzzling info:
    Weight: 127 lb (58 kg)
    Height: 0′ 5″ (0.13 m)
Five inches, gotta be a typo.
