I drove past this crime scene several times today. I do not know this couple personally, but several of my friends do, and man... there's been a lot of testy words tossed back and forth on FB today.

From the link:

A woman accused of killing her ex-husband Tuesday morning fired shots at him until her gun was empty before calling 911, authorities said.

Tracey Grissom, 30, was driving to work from her home in Akron at 8 a.m. when she saw Hunter Daniel Grissom, 27, at the Binion Creek Boat Landing on U.S. Highway 43 North, said Tuscaloosa County Sheriff Ted Sexton. She pulled over to take a photo of him with her phone to use in pending litigation related to their divorce.

They were divorced in Oct. of 2010 and then HG was arrested in Nov. 2010 and charged with unlawful imprisonment, first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy. The following link has more about that situation:

There has been a "Supporters Fighting For Tracey Grissom's Freedom" FB page started.

Ms. Grissom has been released on bond per the FB page.

They don't spell it out in the articles, but evidently he was out of jail on bond?

Sadly I feel sorry for both sides. and mostly I feel sorry for the two kids. Now they have lost their father and their mother will be unavailable to them.

Undoubtedly she will use PTSD as a defense. Maybe that will help in mitigation.

Yes, he was out on bond. Word on the street is that he worked construction building boat docks. He had told someone/her/a lawyer/etc that he sold the boat he worked out of, and she saw him at the boat ramp unloading said boat, so she stopped by to take a picture with her cell phone. He saw her, and flipped her off, so she got out of the vehicle and emptied her gun on him. There were several witnesses. One shot hit him in the back of the head. She got back in her car and called 911.

There are two children, oldest one is hers, and the younger is theirs together.

There has now been a "Justice for Hunter Grissom" FB page started. If it wasn't already messy enough, it sure is now!

She was charged with murder at 115pm and then released on bond at 245pm?

I have never in my life heard of charges being laid so fast on a murder case and then that person being out on bond an hour and a half later.

The free Tracy facebook worked that quickly?
I am thinking the DA or someone must be in the know of some of the drama I have seen mention of?

Sounds like she is mentally unstable to me.

If she would behave like that you have to take her prior allegations with a big pinch of salt.

They wouldnt know if she was or not because they didnt have time to evaluate her mental condition at the time of the crime. Maybe she has a history but then why did they release her and hold hold her for a 3 day?

The judge in the Tracey Grissom murder case told her attorney to stop talking to the media.

“There has been some publicity that the court is concerned about,” Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court Judge John England said at a pre-trial hearing Tuesday afternoon. He asked that the attorneys limit their comments so that an impartial jury can be selected when the trial begins Aug. 4...

She has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, saying that she suffered post-traumatic stress disorder after her husband allegedly raped her a year and a half before the homicide.

It was an emotional day in a Tuscaloosa court room as testimony began in the Tracey Grissom murder trial... In Judge John England's courtroom, Hunter Grissom's family members shed tears as they saw gruesome pictures and details from the day he died back in 2012...

911 tapes were played in court, which included the voices of two brothers who worked for Hunter, and who also witnessed the shooting.

One of the witnesses, William Dockery, told the court that Hunter saw Tracey pull up in her car near boat ramp. He said Hunter recognized Tracey and said, "This crazy [expletive], call the police." Dockery said Hunter never made any gestures or threats towards Tracey.

She was found guilty today. I'm in the tub, so no link. ;)

A jury of six men and six women took just 90 minutes to find her guilty of killing Hunter Grissom at the Binion Creek boat landing on May 15, 2012.

Grissom slumped over the defense table with her head down after the guilty verdict was read. She sobbed as she was escorted from the courtroom...

Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court Judge John England allowed Grissom, 32, to remain free on bond until her sentencing hearing scheduled for Sept. 2. She could be sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.

Hunter and Tracy Grisdom's story aired on 48hrs tonight. Did anyone catch it?

I did, agree with judge, should have been manslaughter. His family is vindictive and in denial. And the rape evidence should have been a trial inside a trial and ultimately presented. It is material to state of mind which differentiates the types of murder.

I really doubt he had a court trial for the rape/assault.

Do I think her innocent? No, as she went to him. But if she shot him on rape night or he came to her house....would be justified.

Not paying for support also speaks to his low character. A tragedy.
