Justices deny Social Security Benefits for Children Conceived after death of parent

Social Security survivor benefits are paid to surviving children when a parent passes. This would mean that the parent intended to be able to provide for the child and then passed so the child lost that support.

This mother KNEW that she was the only support for the children and chose to have them as a single mother. So, I agree, no benefits.

It's sad for a lot of reasons but I agree with the decision. I wouldn't be comfortable telling her that, but I do agree with their decision and reasoning.

I have to agree with this decision as well. If she was pregnant at the time of his death, I would have been outraged.

Agreeing here with Court's unanimous decision (thus making it perhaps the first time I've ever agreed with Justice Scalia on anything, lol).
