Thank you for joining Websleuths! :welcome3:

Please remember the following when discussing the Allison Baden-Clay case:
Websleuths is a moderated forum. We strive to discuss cases in a friendly environment.

Our rules can be reviewed here: The Rules (PLEASE make sure you know the rules!)

Currently, we are considering Allison's husband to be a suspected person of interest in this case. There is a possible second party involved per MSM and it is okay to discuss that aspect, but please refrain from accusing anyone of murder at this juncture. Speculating is one thing, accusing is another.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

For a few days in a row, there have been numerous TOS violations on this case. While it may seem harmless to some, we are getting dozens of complaints from other members who want to discuss this case constructively. From now on, there will be more time outs issued to those who repeatedly choose to ignore our guidelines.

Here are just some of the problems that occur over and over:

* Baiting /Trolling / Inciting Conflict:There are times when a member violates our rules by trying to upset other members. Please use your ALERT feature when this happens and DO NOT RESPOND TO THE POSTS. When a moderator is able to deal with the problem, it takes a LOT less time when he/she doesn't have to also deal with all the responses to the offense. Plus, it makes the one who initially started the conflict keep on going.

* Inviting/Baiting: This is when someone says they have information they can't share on the forum. Then someone else asks for them to PM the information. It's like be at a party and whispering secrets to each other and is not allowed here. If you have something private to share, then send a private message and don't announce it on the public thread.

* Dreams/Visions: WS doesn't condone dreams and visions and psychic information. There are plenty of sites out there on the WWW that do, but we are not one of them. We have not found that information to be helpful in solving cases.

* Announcing alerts: Don't announce that you are alerting. Just do your part and make the alert and move on.

* Sleuthing other members: It doesn't matter what they are doing here, we do NOT sleuth other members. Anonymity is taken very seriously on Websleuths. If this continues, a member could lose their posting privileges permanently

* Derogatory Name Changes to Case Players/General Name Calling: is not allowed here. I'm learning more and more Aussie slang, so knock this stuff off.

* “Off-Topic” Posts: Off-Topic posts are subject to editing or removal at administrative discretion, and without notification. Members that continuously post off topic may have their posting privileges suspended. There is a chat thread created just for you guys. Go there and discuss things that interest you, or just to joke around in a positive manner. This thread is for discussion of Allison's murder.

None of these rules are new and a more detailed explanation of them can be found here: Rules Etiquette & Information - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Everyone is now being held responsible for knowing the rules.

Top cop happy with Baden-Clay progress
QUEENSLAND'S top cop said he would rather investigators in the Allison Baden-Clay murder investigation got it right than rush and make a mistake.

Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson, responding to suggestions the state's forensic centre was taking too long to process results, pointed to the lengthy Daniel Morcombe investigation to demonstrate how important it was to cover every avenue "properly".

He said on Monday he expected the toxicology results "soon" and he was "fine with the way this is progressing".

Allison Baden-Clay Murder Remains Unsolved, Husband Moving Out?

Man, this makes me SO angry! This <Mod Snip> is spruiking off about his "business as usual" but has not even had the decency to thank Police, SES, the canoeist who found Allison's body and everyone else involved in searching for and locating his wife! WTF!

This article is really going to piss off the Police big time! Smug little <Mod Snip>that he is! Come on QPS, this <modsnip> needs to be locked up now!

Let me just remind everyone that GBC has responsibility for his 3 daughters and will need to try and maintain his Agency's obligations to the rental ppty owners and tenants including receipting rents and disbursing net rents to owners. It would appear that the rent roll would be the 'saving grace' as an asset and income stream. last thing he needs are breaches of the various Acts as class action by disgruntled owners would be another world of pain.

In addition, there would also be potential employee entitlements and tax guff to sort out as well. Bet the 'break lease' fee on the Taringa joint would be a killer and whomever owns that place would be unlikely to just let a tenant go without ensuring the party adhered to the terms of the lease including payment of rent, outgoings etc and 'making good' any internal fitout mods or damage.

While i have little doubt that there is a huge self interest, remember other people such as staff, owners and tenants could also be impacted if he doesnt manage that rent roll. Some damage control.

As he has moved office within last 5 wks, perhaps it is indicative that the decision to get out of Taringa and relocate somehere more affordable may have been made sometime prior to Alison's death, assuming he would need to give notice himself.

Also still think that Taringa place may be a hotspot. Another reason to relocate rapidly?

Yes, I understand that he has to make a living so i don't think there's anything wrong with saying what he said, but it's the fact that he's 'broken his silence' for the 2nd time and doesn't even acknowledge Allison. Maybe if he'd said something like "The loss of Allison has touched so many people and I'm so grateful to everyone who helped in the search for her and to the police working so hard on the case. It's still hard to focus on work at such a time of grief but I do need to keep the business going. We look forward to looking after our clients from the new Toowong Office." At the very least!

What I can't understand is that it doesnt seem to occur to him that saying the kind of thing he said, after there still being no public words of sorrow for what has befallen Allison, or some sort of thanks for all the help provided, is just going to look so bad and is just going to show him up for being incredibly cold and unfeeling.

I realise he is probably desperately trying to save his business which is fair enough but this just makes me think he really is completely out of touch with normal feelings.

Weird, I look at him and see someone so pathetic. It's all so, so sad for everyone, for him, for the girls, and poor Allison who probably suffered a horrific and terrifying death.

GBC is a right piece of work isn't he? Just looking at the pic of him moving into the new office and there he is with white earphones in, listening to tunes on his ipod?

Tra la la la leeee, dee dee dum dum doooooo...

Little things speak volumes. That is not a man grieving, that is man arrogant. Someone murdered his wife FFS!

I am shocked yet not shocked.

Regarding this latest news article. I think if I highlight a few words we can see that the journo is having a swipe also???

Gerard Baden-Clay breaks silence for second time since wife Allison's murder to quash rumours his business has closed

Photo of alleged car picture.

denied his Century 21 Westside Taringa real estate agency is on the rocks.

Instead, Mr Baden-Clay said his business had moved

Don't you just love that they have printed for all the world to see where exactly they can find him?

"It's very much business as usual" from centre's underground carpark.

"a representative of the company was unable to confirm what kind of rental arrangement had been negotiated." Hmmm possibly just a very short rental arrangement???

It's only the second time Mr Baden-Clay has broken his silence since he reported his wife missing to police after she failed to return from an early morning walk at 7.30am on April 20.

I am just saying in my own opinion I don't believe they are offering free publicity I do believe it's a snide report as to what were all in shock about.
Business seems far more important at the moment : (

Speaking of journalists though-
Having read this link as provided here I have a feeling this journalist is here amongst us??
Care to say hi?

and seriously that FREAKING beard....its about time it came off now...what... are we going to just keep growing!!! Does he seriously think it hides his facial expressions...plain DUMB!!!:banghead:

I have little idea what happened to Allison, I can only speculate of possible scenerios...but have to admit I was stunned to see the story in today's CM...I had thought GBC was possibly too grief-stricken to talk to the media...All I know is that if I was in his situation I could not even think of my business even if it was important financially for me to do so...I would not be able to even think of business/finances in any way...I would be so completely devastated...

Recall a quote..."We see things as We Are...Not necessarily as They Are."...

And likely not listening to your favourite itunes either. I'm thinking someone must've tipped the CM off about the move and they got there ahead and surprised him. If he'd known, he may have paused the ipod and taken the phones out, got his mourning face on etc. Or put his phone up to his earhole instead.

I know what hole I'd like to stick the phone up.

Taking care of business seems to be what Gerard does best Got a problem you fix it or get rid of it then moving right along

IMO ......

I don't know anything about franchises, can someone enlighten me please?

do you have to continue "working" the business, even if it is not profitable?

can you sell the franchise back to the parent company, or similarly can the parent company cancel your franchise?

Thank you

Yeah, I don't understand what's being said about another Century 21 office either. Wasn't game to ask as someone bit my head off last time I questionned why the Springfield Office would have anything to do with the Taringa office. But seeing as you asked too!

I can't imagine many people wanting to list their property for sale with him. Potential customers might be able to peek properties on-line but eventually they have to see the property in person, with the agent.

Excuse my cautiousness but I wouldn't walk into a vacant house with GBD the way he is currently acting.

It's bizarre.
