In Jennings (Jefferson Davis Parish), Louisiana a serial killer who was never found killed 8 women and dumped them in canals and other areas apparently since 2005? Jennings, LA is only 45min west of Lafayette. Could he of decided to try his luck with Lafayette?

The Jennings victims all had something in common, they were all considered to have "high risk lifestyles"--hard core drugs and whatnot. Mickey doesn't fit that profile.

    most likely not connected

Lafayette Police do not see any possible links between the disappearance more than a week ago of 22-year-old UL student Mickey Shunick and a case in Bloomington, Ind., that bears some similarities. A police spokesman in Lafayette has confirmed that investigators in Indiana have contacted the LPD concerning the disappearance a year ago of 20-year-old Lauren Spierer, who vanished after a night on the town.

The cases bear striking ó if coincidental similarities: each involves the disappearance of a young, attractive, blond coed, and in each case a white pickup truck was spotted in surveillance video. But, Cpl. Paul Mouton of the LPD tells a Baton Rouge television station, thatís where the similarities appear to end.

Certainly! "My pleasure." And, re: Cpl. Mouton's statement from your link, I'm nodding my head in agreement. Let's not waste time looking at cases nine hours and more away. It's too early for that, and intensive investigation in Lafayette and the surrounding area must be done before it's too late.

I might have missed this, but how far is to where the bike was found to the last sighting of Mickey that night?

and, is where the bike was found the same direction that white truck was last seeing traveling?

The Bloomington Police Department said that, from their perspective, "there is nothing to discuss."

"Any speculation about a 'connection' has been manufactured by the media and not by us," Capt. Joe Qualters of the Bloomington Police Department told ABCNews.com in an email.

Qualters said the Bloomington police simply made an "inquiry" about Shunick's case because it seemed the "appropriate thing to do."

About 30 miles on the interstate.

Some have indicated Mickey might of been wanting to buy drugs and that's why she went over to that side of town perhaps. It's also said she was hungover from partying and booze from the night before... Seems pretty "high risk" if you ask me.

I find it odd how a killer in Jennings, Louisiana is able to get away with 8 murders in a town of under 11,000. Talk about high crime rate and obviously LE at least in that area isn't doing a good enough job...

Someone else could have come along and taped some flyers up after the people who where there dropped them on the ground. It doesn't necessarily mean the perp was right there when everyone else was.
My posts are to stay at WS, not to be moved to other forums for their members to judge. I know who is moving posts and this is fair warning. If I want my posts moved to other places, I will do it myself.

For what it's worth, I've been to Artmosphere a couple times, and if you're looking to get weed, it would be a lot easier and safer to get it from someone there. I would venture to say that most of the people who go there either have some or know someone there who does. I don't think Mickey was meeting somebody to "broker a deal" that night (excuse the parlance, I have no idea what people who are looking to get drugs call it lol).

Well, except for the fact that when I see his moniker, I start singing "And you know I like my chicken fried, a cold beer on a Friday night, a pair of jeans that fit just right and the radiieeoooo ooooonnnn."

Supposedly they weren't into anything hardcore, just pot. The women from Jennings definitely lived a different lifestyle than Mickey.
