Beyond white trucks and GIFs, I'd like to speculate about something.

For the sake of narrowing down the field, let's assume that Mickey Shunick left the area immediately surrounding these photos by vehicle. And that her bike traveled with her in the same vehicle.

What are the options for the manner in which she could have left? The way I see it, there aren't that many options...

A) She left willingly, either with someone she knew or someone who offered a ride. (Perhaps she recognized a friendly face, or maybe she willingly went along with a person she thought had accidentally bumped her.)

B) She left by force, which would seem to require either the use of restraints or two assailants- one to contain her and one to load her bike into/onto the vehicle.

C) She left by incapacitation, which would require an injury so severe that the person(s) who injured her would have had to load both Shunick and her bike into/onto the vehicle.

Given the evidence, we know that Shunick likely left the area shortly after she appears in the video still. Each of these options presents varying degrees of visibility, noise, and likelihood.

Using the theory of Occam's razor, which of these options do you think presents the most likely explanation of how Mickey Shunick disappeared?

Just because this was at the end of the other thread and I think it's an important question to ponder ...

(a) requires the least amount of assumptions in my head.

gmta....

Is there a shot of anything from the funeral home Im not aware of? How do we know theres a working camera there? I didnt see one

Weird. Just in case LE lied to us and grammie was right, I decided to go a little further down Landry, just past Brashear (where we all thought she must have turned because LE said she was NOT on the next camera).

Look what was there...

Paris, where did you see that? In google earth?

It's from this post: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7996840#post7996840"]LA LA - Mickey Shunick, 21, Lafayette; 19 May 2012 - #17 - Page 23 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

This may be a very stupid idea....(so don't beat me up!!!).... as far as the truck, something under the truck, the light that may be the bike light, etc... Is it feasible for a few locals together (not ONE person alone) to go there to that location, after dark... try to get a pic (even using lousy resolution to try mimic the originals)? I know the same angle can't be duplicated, but maybe we could see if there is some reflection from writing on pavement, etc??? Maybe even take a pic of a truck there too... see if there's a bump in the pavement, etc?

I'd go... but I'm 1,000 miles away....

ok... tell me if this is ridiculous.....

Least assumptions is A, but I think she was tazered then taken as Jaycee dugard was. So I not using razor theory, I'm going with the unwillingly option

there were a couple carnival vechiles in the parking lot on the 19th. Close to the Bertrand/Congress intersection. It was only a couple though.

A- are you assuming she came to no harm?

B- Mickey is a very slight person. I could probably subdue her, especially with a blunt object

C- A couple of drunken asshats could pull that off.

I'm not choosing one. Occam's so 14th century. :innocent:

:applause:wodalo, great idea to do a .gif. Genius actually. And I will tell you that if I had had that idea and seen that, I would been just as shocked as you, and as upset. That was a good piece of work. Thanks for all the effort!

Those that live in Lafayette and drive the path say there are several cameras on the funeral home And that they are video not still shots

A possibility is that she fell off the bike before the truck got there - so her and the bike could have been laying in the road before the truck got there. That would explain why she and the bike were not projected forward on impact.

Hello!! newbie here! been reading for a week or so, but had an idea on my way home from work today that I thought I'd throw out there. Sorry, but it includes me discussing the WT again!! I am a local and this is heart-breaking and scary as hell at the same time! While driving home from work ( airport area to broussard area) I noticed there are multiple used car lots that have white Z71s on their lots! So that got me thinking, if I did something and was afraid there might be some kind of minute evidence, why not trade in and get a new vehicle??? any thoughts? Plus, seems like a way to eliminate some of the hay from the stack by checking dmv records for trade in's in the area that match in the time period and talk to those people????:banghead:

Much earlier in the day someone posted an inventory of the cameras at Martin/Castille and yesterday, I think it was, someone else here stated that they'd verified the were in working order. I personally have seen several mounted on the building at Martin/Castille.
