I would assume that B is Brettly.

I see the only thing I've missed the last day or so is just more rumors. Hoping for news today, or at least being closer to bringing Mickey home!

Replying to [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7999856&postcount=900"]this post [/ame]from the previous thread, the text of which reads:

chicken fried said:
Bike was found mostly submerged, according to Cpl. Mouton's presser

Other posters here have reported their sources say the water went down 4 feet between the disappearance and bike discovery.

Logic says the bike hit the water, not land, or hit the land and bounced into the water.

The question not answered is when the bike was put there. LE says when they think it was put there, but honestly, who could say, unless there were a dated newspaper wrapped around it?
Thanks

They may have found a "scum line" on the non-submerged part of the bike and, by measuring the distance between the actual current water line and the scum line, and factoring in what they believe is their best measurement of the drop in river stages from Day 1 to the day they found the bike, they were able to make the determination.

Just a guess.

Seems to me LE has really backed off once the RM name surfaced. Dirty little network in LA. Nobody in authority can be trusted. My money says the case goes cold but Lord I hope not!

"Corporal Paul Mouton, a Lafayette Police Department spokesperson, would neither confirm nor deny that McGee was interviewed. Mouton, who sounded incensed on the phone when questioned about the report, said many people have been interviewed. No one has been identified as a suspect, he said, and no one has been arrested."

One thing that stood out to me about this report was the fact that Mouton "sounded incensed" when asked to confirm that McGee has been questioned. I have wondered if that was because he is their main suspect at this point. That would explain why LE doesn't seem interested in tracking down vehicles that were recently reported by ACI and others. Maybe, at this point, they are verifying his alibi, etc. MOO

Yes, I found that odd also. It adds an element to the story that could be completely misleading and is very unprofessional of the reporter (just her impression and not a fact). For all we know, he could be angry 'cause they put ketchup on his burger.

accidentally posted this in the wrong forum a minute ago. oops!

bringing this quote from the last thread (i think)

This may be a very stupid idea....(so don't beat me up!!!).... as far as the truck, something under the truck, the light that may be the bike light, etc... Is it feasible for a few locals together (not ONE person alone) to go there to that location, after dark... try to get a pic (even using lousy resolution to try mimic the originals)? I know the same angle can't be duplicated, but maybe we could see if there is some reflection from writing on pavement, etc??? Maybe even take a pic of a truck there too... see if there's a bump in the pavement, etc?

I'd go... but I'm 1,000 miles away....

ok... tell me if this is ridiculous.....

i just joined and haven't read the rest of this thread yet, but i wanted to comment on this before i forgot. to me, the "light" under the truck doesn't look like a light at all. it appears the truck has a chrome bumper, and the "light" would be chrome "stepsides" or whatever those things are called. runners/runnerboards, maybe? this is clearly not the base model of this truck. someone spent some serious money on it.

there was also a tazer theory earlier (again, which may have been addressed by now) and it occurred to me, the driver could have pulled alongside her under the guise of asking for directions and southerners being a friendly lot, she may have stopped to tell him where to go (thereby preventing either of them from hitting the next camera at the expected time). at that point, he could have had one of those tazers with the lines that shoot out (rather than the "cattle prod" style) and could've easily tazed her without leaving the seat of his truck (i.e. through the open window). if he had gotten out prior to tazing her, she would've likely been uncomfortable and immediately pedaled off, leaving him on foot for a few seconds until he got back in the truck. thus, the tazing her from the inside of the truck seems more likely IF that were how it went down. then she would've been incapacitated on the street and for a few moments upon him loading her into the truck, giving him time to also throw her bike in the back and make a getaway. if she was still holding even one of the grips of her bike when tazed, it seems logical to me that there might be some evidence of that on those grips that forensics can determine if it's not obvious to the naked eye.

back to the theory that maybe she wasn't going straight home... this seems very possible, given that a friend called her moments before she left BW's home. it seems interesting to me that she was hanging out with BW, then gets a call and leaves within, what, 10? 15? minutes. not suggesting the friend who called had anything to do with this or that the friend's home was the destination of MS, but depending on their conversation, it could've made MS think to stop elsewhere before going home.

the mention of the carnival vehicles also got me to thinking about the possibility that her abductor is not a local. if the carnival was leaving town/had left town with some stragglers behind, it would've been a pretty easy opportunity. i know that i've seen carnies at the AR state fair who drove some very nice vehicles like Hummers and Cadillacs. it's not out of the question for one of them to have a very nice truck. does anyone know where the "carnival" went after Lafayette? has anyone tracked previous stops and possible connections of other missing girls? not necessarily super recently, either. this person may only need a "fix" for his addiction every once in a while, but could've been traveling with this carnival (or any others) for a very long time. it's a pretty good cover, after all, not being in the same town when things come to light. most people forget about the carnivals once they're gone.

also, has LE tried to locate this truck on any other streets (i know there are tons and lots of cameras) in the 10-15 minutes prior to seeing it or MS? if they could, maybe they'd get some better shots and/or a license plate. obviously, in order to reach the location where the images we have were shot, the truck would have had to drive on some other streets nearby.

what i don't get is why MS wouldn't have just taken Congress St to get home. it's right there by BW's house and it's a relatively straight shot to her own house. this is what really makes me think she had another stop in mind.

as for the truck on the google shot vs the DWTIQ and the possible parked truck in the shot of the Olds, it looks to me like the google truck shot has brush guards on the front, which it doesn't appear to have on the DWTIQ. also, the DWTIQ looks (to me, at least) like it has an angled portion from the top of the cab to the sides of the bed, more like an Avalanche rather than the Z71 seen in the google photo. this could just be something odd in the picture, but it really does look angled to me. additionally, the google picture truck looks to have those rims that are solid circles and have the portion in the middle that juts out with the bolts (i'm used to seeing them on "duallys" or however you spell that, like my stepdad's huge dodge) and the DWTIQ looks to have "holey" rims if that makes any sense. like really wide spokes. i hope someone gets what i'm trying to say here.

sorry for the long rambling post... i've been reading this stuff for days, brainstorming, pondering, and now spewing it all out at once. :D so glad to be here, though and i hope they figure out what's going ASAP.

Approximate area of Mickey Shunicks house

i'm not seeing this on the map?

Southwest of everything else. You may have to zoom out of the area.

According to the below link, the truck involved in the Patterson incident is a white GMC Sierra 2500 Texas Edition.

What identifies a "Texas Edition"?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2152509/Bike-Michaela-Mickey-Shunick-damaged-suggesting-victim-hit-run.html

edit: Google is my friend.

The Texas Edition for the 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 truck includes chrome-clad aluminum wheels, front fog lamps, locking tailgate, EZ-lift tailgate, bodyside moldings with chrome accents, chrome door handles and Texas emblem badging.

Police confirm Rocky Mcgee interviewed in Shunick case

LE will never reveal info that would jeopardize a case. IMO.

Now I am wondering ..... if the biker with the backpack was Mickey and the other rider was B? -GDUD

What other bike rider? I'm confused by the above post. Is there a released photo of Mickey riding with another biker now? Link plz?

It's there. You might have to zoom out or double click on that house icon on the left side.

Does anyone know what kind of vehicle does RM drive or has access to???

She was taking the exact route that google maps recommends if you are on a bike. It factors bike lanes, car traffic, etc., into the route and many avid bikers use it.

I'm just trying to keep up as the threads are moving fast.
There are many abbreviations, that I find confusing. Sorry.
