A convicted murderer freed from prison two years ago gunned down his brother during an argument outside his brother's northwest Indiana home early Saturday, then chased his sister-in-law inside and killed her while her terrified children listened, authorities said.

Steven Clippenger, 41, of South Bend, apparently killed Matthew and Lisa Clippenger after he became angry when Matthew confiscated his handgun hours earlier at the home, James Taylor, a St. Joseph County Metro Homicide investigator, said in an affidavit.

The first murder details are that the victim was an older family friend and the then 18 yr old killer wanted to sell him a sawed-off shotgun. The family friend takes the gun away, takes the shells out and tells him he is too young to have a gun. The killer then gets the gun back puts shells in it and there is a fight over the gun and he kills the family friend. He served 20 yrs in prison, gets out finds a girl friend and has a baby. He attends a technical school where he was 2 weeks from graduation when this happened. He went over to his brother's home, (who also had testified against him in his first trial) where his brother notices the killer has a gun. The brother tells him that he is not allowed to have a gun since he is a convicted felon and takes the gun away. The killer leaves angry but comes back at midnight that same night with another gun where he shoots down his brother. He then chases his sister-in-law through the home and kills her too in front of her 2 children. Then he flees the scene in a car driven by his girlfriend. He is later caught with many more weapons. The mother of the 2 men says, oh "it was an accident" that her one so killed the other. Ya right.
