A man told police that a woman assaulted him after an argument over groceries Sunday afternoon, police said.
Police said the woman went to Charles Talberts home on Lakeview Street to confront him about the groceries. Thats when the argument became heated and the woman jumped out of her wheelchair and punched Talbert, 29, in the face and chest, police said.
Talbert told police she then removed her prosthetic leg and struck him with it, police said.
Talbert said his cellphone and glasses were damaged in the fight.
Police said the woman was injured in the altercation after witnesses pulled her away. They said her dialysis tube was pulled out of her neck during the fight and she was transported to Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Her condition was not released.
