CO - Cops handcuff every adult at intersection looking for bank robber
Police said they had received what they called a “reliable” tip that the culprit in an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo bank committed earlier was stopped at the red light.
“We didn’t have a description, didn’t know race or gender or anything, so a split-second decision was made to stop all the cars at that intersection, and search for the armed robber,” Aurora police Officer Frank Fania told ABC News.

I'm surprised he didn't try to shoot his way out of there-- everyone is extremely lucky that shots weren't fired.
If I had my kids with me, I'd probably have been arrested for resisting. Well, let's just say I wouldn't have been handled calmly, I would have freaked out.
I can't say it's wrong, because they caught the guy and stayed within the right of the law, but as you point out LTCold, it was insured money put before the safety of innocent bystanders. I'm just relieved no one was hurt.

This same thing happened in Salt Lake City about 6 years ago but people weren't handcuffed, just kept by the road in a parking area. A man had just murdered a woman in her home while her baby was near her. They never found him.
