Dr. Paul Benson, assistant chief medical examiner, said the remains belong to a 26- to 35-year-old Caucasian or Asian male of Hispanic descent and approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. The remains were discovered in the 200 block of Kendayl Road in Blairs.

The remains of a 26 to 25 year old Caucasian or Asian male of Hispanic descent who was approximately 5’9” tall. Deputies discovered the remains on December 26, 2005 in a wooded area by a farm in the 200 block of Kendayl Road, Blairs, VA. (Case # W810-05)

Clothing with remains: Remnants of a dark colored (green ?) shirt.
Fragments of Levis blue jeans with Levi Strauss jean buttons.
Brown leather belt.
White silk underpants with black waistband, "Hanes" emblem.
Thermal undergarments.
White sweat socks.
Brown work boots.

They have dental records and both mito and nuc DNA
 
I am not particularly familiar with Pittsylvania, though I have been through neighboring areas. It's rural and typical of Southwest VA.

That means that roubhly only 2.23% of the population had a chance of being this guy if he was hispanic, mixed, or other (bbm above). If he Hispanic, should have really stuck out, considering that only a 1.23% were Hispanic/etc.

Someone has to know him.
 
Namus now says either White/Caucasion or Hispanic/Latino. LE has cast their net wide with 846 names on the ruleout list back in 2015. One wonder at what point they try something new and do Parabon or familial research - they've put so much time and effort in already.
