Thank you for joining Websleuths! :welcome3:

Please remember the following when discussing the Allison Baden-Clay case:
Websleuths is a moderated forum. We strive to discuss cases in a friendly environment.

Our rules can be reviewed here: The Rules (PLEASE make sure you know the rules!)

Currently, we are considering Allison's husband to be a suspected person of interest in this case. There is a possible second party involved per MSM and it is okay to discuss that aspect, but please refrain from accusing anyone of murder at this juncture. Speculating is one thing, accusing is another.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

For a few days in a row, there have been numerous TOS violations on this case. While it may seem harmless to some, we are getting dozens of complaints from other members who want to discuss this case constructively. From now on, there will be more time outs issued to those who repeatedly choose to ignore our guidelines.

Here are just some of the problems that occur over and over:

* Baiting /Trolling / Inciting Conflict:There are times when a member violates our rules by trying to upset other members. Please use your ALERT feature when this happens and DO NOT RESPOND TO THE POSTS. When a moderator is able to deal with the problem, it takes a LOT less time when he/she doesn't have to also deal with all the responses to the offense. Plus, it makes the one who initially started the conflict keep on going.

* Inviting/Baiting: This is when someone says they have information they can't share on the forum. Then someone else asks for them to PM the information. It's like be at a party and whispering secrets to each other and is not allowed here. If you have something private to share, then send a private message and don't announce it on the public thread.

* Dreams/Visions: WS doesn't condone dreams and visions and psychic information. There are plenty of sites out there on the WWW that do, but we are not one of them. We have not found that information to be helpful in solving cases.

* Announcing alerts: Don't announce that you are alerting. Just do your part and make the alert and move on.

* Sleuthing other members: It doesn't matter what they are doing here, we do NOT sleuth other members. Anonymity is taken very seriously on Websleuths. If this continues, a member could lose their posting privileges permanently

* Derogatory Name Changes to Case Players/General Name Calling: is not allowed here. I'm learning more and more Aussie slang, so knock this stuff off.

* “Off-Topic” Posts: Off-Topic posts are subject to editing or removal at administrative discretion, and without notification. Members that continuously post off topic may have their posting privileges suspended. There is a chat thread created just for you guys. Go there and discuss things that interest you, or just to joke around in a positive manner. This thread is for discussion of Allison's murder.

None of these rules are new and a more detailed explanation of them can be found here: Rules Etiquette & Information - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Everyone is now being held responsible for knowing the rules.

QUOTE CASECLOSED - I'm still of the opinion this was not premeditated. If the killer wanted to disguise this murder as a suicide, by making it seem that she jumped off the bridge, it is pretty lame attempt IMO. That bridge is not high enough to guarantee death. There is a pretty good chance someone would survive (injured, but survive) that hight. Also, her car was not found near the bridge. By mentioning "depression" in the first few interviews, I believe the family was hinting at suicide, but the killer(s) post-death cover-up plan does not support this. Big holes! I'm inclined to think that the cover-up plan was more to do with: She went for a walk, was abducted by a random man, killed somewhere and left under the bridge.

If this case ends up being a premeditated murder, I will be very surprised!

Also, I am convinced that if someone has killed somebody, they will NOT involve a whole lot of people to cover it up. I can understand the post-participation of perhaps one more individual, but not more. It is just too risky, whether it would be family members or mistresses, to involve more people.
END QUOTE

Caseclosed - Great post. You have put into words everything I've been thinking. Thanks

Can someone tell me the difference between a homicide - and no visual mean of foul play. To me this sounds so contradictory. Generally speaking when we read or hear of this - a homicide is something that someone brought about the killing of. No visual means of foul play generally means suicide. Not saying ABC suicided but the above 2 do not make sense to me regarding her death.

Grannie,

Can you tell me how you do the strikethrough on a word thanks - could have used that this morning on a previous post

Cheers

Hi CChc,

Wouldn't it mean no obvious signs of how the victim died, yet the police know the person was murdered as it was neither accidental nor suicide?

Rational, I believe that someone else had earlier put forward that they had heard a few things from a reliable source. It was only rumour but this person posted a couple of things, and one was that the autopsy revealed that Allison had bathwater in her lungs. I believe this is how the mention of this first started, but i can't recall who posted it. Perhaps someone else can remember. I remember at the time it seemed like a credible post, and the person made a typo, making the word come out as "batwater", which was later clarified.

itsthevibe...it was squizzy...

IMO it means no visible wounds, like several gun shot wounds, stabbing wounds, something tied around the neck, big holes in the head from being hit with a metal bar, etc.

The CM's latest story smacks of desperation. Even if the pastor hadn't written this SIX WEEKS ago, it is still of the "Someone in the Baden-Clay family said something - wrap a story around it!" mould. Do newspapers really think readers are so stupid? I guess so. The irony is that it's the CM that looks stupid for not seeing that the pastor was really having a go at the media for trading in the rumours and gossip, not at the rumour mill itself. MOO.

Thanks. I still hold my original theory that she was killed unintentionally due to a DV episode that went too far and then panic stricken killer may have sought help from one more person to dispose of the body, but it was not premeditated, nor planned for next months, etc. KISS principle. IMO.

"No visual means of foul play" can mean 'natural causes' also.

I don't understand why Supt Ainsworth stated there were no signs of foul play but still considered it murder at the same time?...

Because of whatever observations they made at the home and their other enquiries before the body was found, etc. There were no visible signs of foul play when they found the body, but their investigation up to that point in time lead them to believe she had been murdered somehow. They didn't know how, but they did know she was murdered.

Could it mean even though there were No Signs.....the police still KNOW there has been foul play ?

Homicide can be deemed as justified or excusable (self defence etc), murder is essentially criminal homicide.

Information could have been given before the autopsy to detectives during any of the earlier interviews, for the detectives to decide that they would make it an unlawful homicide investigation.

Someone could have rolled over already....who knows? Its all part of "criminal intelligence"
