Vines said he punched one of the men, while his friend hit both of the men over the head with a bottle. Either one or both of the two men then started shooting, he said. He said his friend was shot and killed, while two others also were hit by gunfire. Vines said he had never before seen the men who he had been arguing with.

I am a graduate of Auburn University, Class of '81, and this news is just devastating ! Things like this didn't happen when I was in college or high school, in the 70s and early 80s, but they sure seem to be happening way too often these days .... Sad ! :banghead:

Still at large, an arrest below for hindering...

A Montgomery man is in jail after allegedly lying to police about the whereabouts of Desmonte Leonard, the man police suspect in the shooting that left three people dead and three more wounded at an Auburn apartment complex late Saturday.

Montgomery police arrested Gabriel Thomas, 41, at his Grovewood Drive home on Sunday and charged him with first-degree hindering prosecution, said Sgt. Regina Duckett of the Montgomery Police Department.

“We have reason to believe that he (Thomas) would know his whereabouts, and he provided false information that we were able to confirm was false,” she said.

“We’re not playing,” she said. “Anytime you harbor a known felon that has warrants, you will be arrested for that.”

Second person arrested, still seeking gunman.

A man described as a person of interest in connection with a shooting that left three people dead and three more wounded at an Auburn apartment complex late Saturday was taken into custody by Montgomery police Monday.

Jeremy Thomas, 18, of Montgomery has been charged with hindering prosecution and allegedly fled with 22-year-old Desmonte Leonard, the man police suspect in the shooting, from University Heights apartments Saturday, Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson said.

Why is J. Thomas even out walking around if he is going to trial for the death of a 14 yr old girl? He must have a great attorney.

Oh wait... I almost forgot...we don't hold criminals responsible for their actions anymore.

<modsnip> If you go to socialmention.com, it searches social media, twitter, fb, etc. Type in woosie. Woosie is Desmonte's nickname. You will see people that know him and even those that don't know him that are behind him. My translation was that they think he was justified because they were big football players.<modsnip> I need another, more hip, brain to read the posts because I could only understand every third word.
