MULDROW, Okla. - The search for a missing Fort Smith man continued Thursday along the Arkansas River in Oklahoma.

The search for a Fort Smith, Ark., man south of Muldrow and along the Arkansas River has been called off, Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart said Monday.

The Sequoyah County sheriff’s office is currently searching for the body of a missing Fort Smith man.

Sheriff Ron Lockhart said Tuesday morning, “We are south of Muldrow at the Mayo Dam on the sand bar working with the Fort Smith Police Department on a missing persons case. We have found the missing person’s vehicle and we suspect foul play.”
Hunter Finds Human Remains on Island on Arkansas*River
Sequoyah County Ron Lockhart says clues on scene allowed investigators to rule out if the remains belong to Glen Ray Cook, Jr. of Fort Smith. Cook was reported missing in June. His car was found near Muldrow, Okla. on the banks of the Arkansas River.
