Maria Rivera's 11-month-old daughter, Stormi Rivera, is not expected to survive injuries sustained while with her mother yesterday, which Rivera claims were caused by the girl falling down the stairs.

Detectives say hospital staff informed them "the only way to sustain these types of injuries [is] by severely shaking the baby."

That may not even be the worst part outlined in court documents obtained by New Times

Well she appears to have been busy reproducing. This 11 months old is one of three children that she has, one is 1 month old and the other is 2 years old.

Sickening and disgusting!! This "mother" likely was having babies in order to obtain welfare income from the state.

RIP little Stormi. :heartbeat:

Poor little Stormi, she never got a chance to know and live with a mother's love.

June 2012 - past run-in with CPS described:

The first came on October 31, when CPS was called to investigate a domestic-violence issue between Rivera and Stormi's father, who hasn't been named.

The CPS report says Rivera "was said to have repeatedly shoved Stormi into his arms and then she twisted Stormi's right ankle."...

CPS then had a second encounter with Rivera in March, after Stormi was admitted to the hospital for "croup."

Stormi "demonstrated seizure-like activity," the report says, and an MRI revealed Stormi had a collection of blood on the surface of her brain.

CPS reports that the cause of Stormi's injuries were "speculative."

"A bone survey revealed Stormi had a transverse skull fracture," the report states. "The allegations were investigated and the report was unsubstantiated as the hospital was unable to determine if the fracture was old or new."

June 2012:

Rivera initially told police she was holding Stormi when the girl fell down the stairs, according to court documents obtained by New Times, but told the judge a couple times today that it was a seizure that caused the girl to fall.

"My daughter had a seizure, fell down the stairs, that was it," she said.

Rivera told police she tried numerous "methods" to revive Stormi after she went unconscious, like shaking the baby "on and off" for as long as half an hour.

Her other "methods" included tapping Stormi's face, using wipes on her face, and eventually performing CPR, according to the documents.

About 90 minutes after she was done doing that, Stormi finally made it to the hospital.

And that's only because instead of calling 9-1-1, or taking the girl right to the hospital, she called her mother -- who lives in Maricopa -- and had her come over to her Phoenix apartment to evaluate the situation.

Rivera's mother arrived at her daughter's apartment, noticed the baby was unresponsive, and "immediately" took her to the hospital.

June 2012:

Police say that for the first three hours of the interview, Rivera denied any involvement in causing the girl's injuries, instead saying that the girl had fallen down the stairs while she was holding her.

According to the documents, Stormi also had a "human adult bite" on her left thigh, which Rivera had no explanation for.

Rivera faces two counts of child abuse -- for now -- and her bond was set at $200,000.
