KY - 19 youngsters found unattended in Kentucky home

Authorities in south-central Kentucky say 19 youngsters were left unattended for about a week in a sweltering home in Bowling Green.

The children were found Monday when the Warren County sheriff's office responded to a complaint.

Deputies found 19 children ranging from 8 months to 14 years old with no supervision and no working air conditioning or food.

The article above states that the children were begging neighbors for food!

One would think that at some point after producing numerous children, either one of these parents could have figured out what birth control is for.
    Just my opinion

A neighbor called police to the house, and officers found the children alone with no air conditioning and nine dogs and a cat. A police detective said there was an inch of dog feces on the floor in one room.
A neighbor says there were 13 children living in the house before six cousins came to visit for the summer.

I don't think so. The article up thread said some of the kids belonged to the woman arrested and neighbors said they thought it was a blended family.

Why isn't dad being charged? Is it because the man living there wasn't dad? What is he?

I know she was on the news last night. I didn't get to see it, but I saw the previews. She was going to explain why she wasn't a bad mother. (I live in Louisville)

    I have no words.

I guess with 19 kids in the house, I'd need a little vacation too, but I'd have to settle for locking myself in the bathroom for five minutes. What the hell ever happened to the maternal instinct?
    JMO. Unless there's a link, I can't prove it.
