Rest in peace, Ernest. My favorite films in which Borgnine appeared include "The Catered Affair" (with BetteDavis) and "The Poseidon Adventure".
 
He is the Voice of "Mermaid Man" a recurring character on SpongeBob. Hubby and I just watched the Dirty Dozen the other day.


FYI Tim Conway plays his counterpart "Barnacle Boy".

Hopefully he and Mickey Rooney patched up their bitter feud. They both did appear together in the 2011 film Night Club. I never figured out what it was all about - maybe someone else knows. It wasn't politics since both were that rarity in Hollywood - Republicans. RIP Ernest.
 
Was he still married to Tova? I remember her from when I was a child; she had a cosmetics salon my Mom shopped at, in the town we lived in when my Dad was stationed on the East Coast.
