UK - Bob, 68, & Patricia Seddon, 65, shot to death, Manchester, 4 July 2012
One now wonders, too, about the "accident" four months earlier.
Son quizzed by police over killing of parents he rescued
from a canal: Couple shot dead in their home after 'break-in'
He was nominated for a bravery award when he helped save his parents from drowning.
But – just four months on – Nic Seddon, 45, is in custody on suspicion of shooting them dead in their home.
When police found the bodies of Bob and Patricia Seddon on Friday afternoon they thought it was a question of a double suicide.
Now detectives say their home was broken into and that their injuries were inflicted by a third party.
Superintendent Simon Retford of Greater Manchester Police described their deaths as tragic, adding: ‘We do not believe this was a random attack and it’s believed to be an isolated incident.

This reminds me of a preacher who killed an old man for his money. He got into a wreck with the old man and the man lived, only later to be killed in another wreck with the preacher.
I have to wonder if the first wreck with his parents was intended to kill them.

From March 2013:
Seddon, 46, was unemployed and living off his parents’ generosity in the months leading up to the murders. He was jailed for life, with a minimum of 40 years, after a judge described the murders as a ‘terrible and unnatural crime’...
Seddon was an ‘ungrateful son’ who killed his parents so he could get his hands on their £230,000 estate, Peter Wright QC, prosecuting, told the jury.
The 46-year-old dad-of-three, of Seaham, County Durham, was found guilty of two charges of murder and two charges of attempted murder following a month-long Manchester Crown Court trial.
