FL - Vicki Bolling, 64, shot to death, St Petersburg, 8 May 2012
This story happened back in May ..I did a search of names they did not turn up a post.
small exert of story
This is another story of :Grief and exhaustion filled Vicki Bolling's sons on Wednesday. But not surprise. After three decades of physical and emotional abuse, threats, intimidation, manipulation and, in the final years, alcoholism, John and Michael Stevenson said they knew their mother would die at the hands of their stepfather.
Vicki Bolling eventually made a life for herself apart from her husband.
She was the executive assistant to the chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. It's a politically appointed position, but their mother stayed on through three administrations and was awarded the medal of merit.
We want everyone to know, don't stay silent," said John Stevenson, "That's what got my momma killed.""This isn't who they are. It is only what happened to them."

From August 2013:
William Bolling did not apologize, and he did not explain. But he did admit in court on Friday that he shot and killed his wife, Vicki Bolling, a mother and former assistant to the chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
