Torsos, body parts discovered floating in Detroit waterways
The torsos of a man and woman, and later body parts believed to belong to the two, were found floating in Detroit-area waterways on Tuesday morning, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Follow @NBCNewsUS "This was vicious," Commander Steve Dolunt of the Detroit Police Department told the paper. "It looks like they were sending a message. It’s not just a normal — if there is a normal — homicide.”
Seems like, with the news of bodies being cut up by others, there might be copy cat crimes happening.
Possibly cartel activity with their usual method of dealing with people too.
what is up with this? saw it as well! geez!
This bee my opinion
Any updates on this? I cannot find anything.
**May God Watch Over All Missing and Abused Children**
Thanks for these links. I have been busy at work today, and haven't had time to look for updates. Of interest, I find these quotes:
To the left, a yellow-handled circular saw -- cordless with a battery pack -- which investigators believe was used to cut the limbs from two headless torsos discovered floating nearby early Tuesday.
Police believe the parts belong to two torsos -- a man and a woman -- missing heads, legs and arms, said Detroit Police Department Eastern District Cmdr. Steve Dolunt.
He said they appeared to be in their 20s or 30s.
The woman's torso has a distinctive tattoo, Dolunt said. Investigators were not releasing the type of tattoo, worried that she might be identified to her family through the news media.
I completely understand them not wanting to describe the woman's tattoo for fear this is the way the family will know, but how do they propose to identify this lady?
Are they just waiting for a missing persons report to come in describing a tattoo like the one on the body?
Also, a circular saw is a very odd type of cutting instrument to dismember a body.
Did they have an idea when they were killed? It's proximity to Toronto made me think back to another murder. Did they determine without a doubt that Luka Rocco Magnotta acted alone?
It also reminds me of murders even further back-Link
I wonder if those murders had something to do with organized crime.
Sounds like organized crime to me. Drugs, mafia.
I doubt Eric Newman (aka Magnotta) was involved.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says the jury was selected Tuesday and opening statements will start Wednesday in Roger Bowling's Wayne County Circuit Court trial.
Bowling is charged with first-degree murder in the 2012 slayings of 32-year-old Danielle Greenway and 42-year-old Chris Hall at their home in Allen Park.
Prasad told the jury that Greenway was shot in the back of the mouth, meaning the gun was placed in her mouth past the teeth. That, he said, goes to show premeditation. Hall was shot six times.
The house had been cleaned up in spots, but bullet holes, shell casings, and blood were still found in the house several days after the murders took place. Bowling was still staying on the house at that time.
Prasad said Greenway’s van was found several blocks away from the house, locked, but the keys were still on the hook in the house. A glove found in the van had Bowling’s fingerprints on it, along with blood that matched one of the victims.
Roger Bowling was found guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder, dismemberment, and other charges in the 2012 slayings of 32-year-old Danielle Greenway and 42-year-old Chris Hall at their home in Allen Park. The trial began in mid-August.
Bowling faces a mandatory term of life in prison without parole when sentenced Oct. 10 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
