She wasn't in the 1980 book for Monett High School. But here is her freshman photo from the 1977 book.

Thank you!! Now, anyone know how to get someone listed at Charley or Doe??

Their e-mail addresses are on the sites.

Meaghan Good at Charley is goodmeaghan@gmail.com
Rebecca Roberts at DoeNet is doublerc_2000@yahoo.com

But you might want to verify that she is still missing. That AMW post is two years old.

But The first thought that came to mind when I saw her photo was Arroyo Grande. She has a widow's peak hairline, and might have a gap between 7&8.

I found this post on the A & E site:

"I am new to this site and want to post this information in case in the past years those of you that are members who have been around awhile might have any ideas or thots. In July, 1981, My 18 year old sister, Janice Arlene Younger went missing in the small SW Missouri town of Monett. It is about 45 min from Springfield and Joplin both. She and my family lived in Monett during the years of 1974-1980 and she had many friends in that area. We moved to NWArk but she had a small son who was in Foster Care there in Monett whom she visited monthly. It was while she was on such a visit that she bacame missing...."

A visit to the Missouri State Police site confirmed this is an active case (although it doesn't seem to have been to active to be honest...she is not listed at Charley, Doe, Namus, etc.)

CarlK90245 was able to help me by finding her photo on classmates.com

I just think Janice has been ignored for too long... can we get things moving and try to find her?

Man, they look alike! Except AGJD was found in Oct'80 and Janice went missing in July of 1981.

However, I'm wondering if they have their dates right. Her birthdate is listed as 7-17-1962, and she's listed as going missing on 7-17-1981. Her sister did say July '81, which matches that. But her sister didn't say anything about her disappearing on her birthday, which seems like something you would mention. Also her sister said she was 18, but if she disappeared 7-17-81, she'd be 19.

Oops, I was thinking her date LKA was 1980. I guess because I was looking in the 1980 yearbook. She was in the Class of 1980, and wasn't in the 1979 or 1980 yearbook.

Keep in mind that this is her freshman-year photo taken in 1977 (about 4 years prior to her disappearance).

She had had a baby. Schools were probably a whole lot less accomodating for that circumstance back then. Although it's another good factoid to know that she had previously given birth.

Just pointing out - She appears to have a mole near her right jawline.

I wonder if the 1983 Shell Knob UID mentioned in her sister's AMW posting is still UID. There is no listing for this UID in NamUs or DoeNet.

I think she looks quite a bit like the Arroyo Grande Jane Doe!! You should turn that in! If she wasn't reported missing till years later then they may have dates mixed up possibly.

I contacted Heather Elder of the State of Missouri Missing Persons unit.

She gave me the vital stats on Janice Younger:

I submitted her as a possible match while I had Ms. Elder on the phone.

... or this alleged HL Lucas victim found in Corona CA.
