GUILTY UK - Michael Polding, 62, murdered in his Brighton home, 14 May 2012

Police have launched a murder hunt after discovering the body of a missing 63-year-old man, who was last seen alive two months ago.

Michael Polding was found on July 16 by police who broke into his Brighton flat, after family members reported him missing.

A post-mortem on his badly decomposed body has revealed Mr Polding had suffered a series of injuries and may have lain dead in his flat for up to eight weeks before he was found.

A 28-year-old man from London has been arrested after a 63-year-old man was found dead in Brighton.

In a statement, Mr Polding's family said: "Last year he decided to move to Brighton as he wanted to start a new life in the gay community in the city.

"Michael was a kind and caring man. Despite the distance between us he kept in close contact and we will miss him greatly."

A male prostitute has been jailed for 18-and-a-half years for attacking and killing a man he lived with and leaving his body to rot.

Ricardo Pisano, 36, killed 62-year-old Michael Polding in Brighton last year. Pisano was convicted of manslaughter and causing actual bodily harm but cleared of murder.
