Walmart stores in Leavenworth and Lawrence were evacuated [Sunday] after a string of bomb threats continued against the discount chain.
A threat phoned into the Grandview Walmart about 4:30 a.m. Sunday said there was an explosive planted at the Leavenworth store.
Threats also were phoned in to both Walmart stores in Lawrence, just minutes apart and shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, said Douglas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Roberts
Captain Eric Hovis of the Frederickton, Mo., Police Department, south of St. Louis, said that around 6:45 p.m. Friday a Walmart worker “received an automated phone call that said ‘There’s a bomb in the building. You have two hours to get everyone out. This is no joke.’ ”
