AZ - Jeff Block, 58, Apache Junction, 25 July 2012

This is my first post so I hope I have completed it correctly. It seems like this family is trying to obtain his cell records. He and his dog are missing.

"Jeff Block, 58, of Apache Junction, and his white male wolf-mix dog named "Blue" disappeared July 25 while on a drive somewhere west of Show Low."

"Jeffrey Block and Blue were in a white 2005 Dodge Ram SLT pickup truck traveling to Show Low, possibly to pick up some money from a man he sold a used air conditioner to, Dan Block said.

Block said his older brother called their dad in Phoenix at about 3 p.m. July 25 to cancel a 5 p.m. dinner engagement. The duo were planning a trip to Colorado early the next day.

Jeffrey Block said he would call back later because of intermittent cell phone service but he hasn't been heard from since."

This is an excerpt from a website the family has set up with serch information, etc. -

"Looking for Man near Show Low who may have seen Jeff that night. How can we find him? Story from recently discovered facts: Jeff sold a used air conditioner to a man near Show Low. He delivered it on his way back from a business delivery to Vernon. The man owed him $700 and Jeff has been attempting to collect since early 2011. Fact: Jeff mentioned he was making a quick trip to Show Low; something about $350 to my Dad on his last call; exactly 1/2 the amount owed to him. Please help me find this person as he may know more information. Was Jeff on his way to collect some of the money owed? Did he have contact with my brother that day? Did Jeff make it to his house and collect the money? If so, what time did he leave to come back home?
HOW DO WE FIND THIS MAN? Jeff’s cell phone (602-647-6047) was on Verizon service all of 2011. There should be records still available and one of his (928) area code calls will lead us to this man. If you are reading this site I beg you to call me and let me know if you have any information"

Does anyone know the family? They need LE to check cell and phone records.

I do not know the family. It sounds like they are currently working with LE. I saw the article tonight and didn't see it posted on WS yet. If they need work with LE for the records, hopefully they are close to getting access as they have been missing 10 days. Thanks

    Possible sighting.

"His brother, Dan Block, said they received a tip Sunday morning from a couple who saw a white truck that matched the description of Jeff Block's white 2005 Dodge Ram SLT pickup parked "in the middle of nowhere" near Greens Peak, a summit in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest southeast of Show Low.

Volunteers are headed to the area and Dan Block is seeking aerial support to help search the area, which he said takes a long time to access by road, has several back roads and could take volunteers several hours to canvas on foot or in vehicles."

The only other plausible lead the family has received so far is a sighting by an elk hunter this week of Blue between McNary and Vernon, Dan Block said.

He said after seeing a picture of Blue the hunter was "90 percent" convinced it was Jeffrey Block's dog.
Poor Blue must be so confused. I hope the family gets answers and someone locates Blue and brings him home.

Sherwin Block left a message on my voice answering machine late Wednesday afternoon, saying in a soft, weary voice, “Ed, this is Sherwin Block, we talked earlier about my missing son Jeff Block. He is no longer missing. His truck and his body were found at the bottom of the Salt River Canyon this afternoon.”

Was it foul play? Any news in that regard?

The vehicle was discovered Wednesday by a search volunteer near the bottom of a 1,000-foot canyon off U.S. Highway 60.
