The Delaware County sheriff’s office is investigating the discovery today of a woman’s body inside a car parked along Bevelheimer Road in near Westerville. Detectives confirmed that the woman is a 23-year-old Licking County woman who disappeared yesterday after answering a Craigslist ad.

A resident who lives in the area called the sheriff’s office to report that the car was parked on the road, said Jennifer Jarrell, a spokeswoman for the sheriff. A deputy found the woman’s body inside around 12:38 p.m. today.

Jarrell said she could not say where in the vehicle the body of Deanna Ballman was found.

James Ballman, 19, of Buckeye Lake, said his 23-year-old sister was responding to an online classified ad seeking house-cleaning help.

Deanna Ballman, who recently returned to Ohio from Colorado, was nine months pregnant and expecting a girl, her brother said. She had two other children, ages 1 and 3

So sad. Does LE know who placed the ad. Was she found near the home she went too?

How awful. I hope whatever the truth is, it is found quickly.

Another strange story.....Her poor children.

:rose:

What a sad, sad story ... a mother who was making plans for a better life for herself and children loves her life under such strange circumstances.

So, where was the abusive husband when this happened?

RIP Deanna Ballman and her unborn baby girl.

Prayers to her two beautiful children and her loved ones.

:please:

"No evidence of trauma." There are a multitude of rare, fatal event which can occur in late pregnancy: amniotic fluid embolus, pulmonary embolus, etc.

But it says she was found in the BACK seat of her car. Strange. One wonders about the soon-to-be-ex husband AND the well-known-to-LE person who posted the Craig's List ad.

The back seat could easily be explained by remembering she called her mother to say she wasn't feeling well. She might have pulled off the road and laid down in the back seat and died. The call to her mother was disconnected (possible cell phone battery died) and so she couldn't call 911 when she realized she was in trouble. It really depends on Livor mortis in the body that shows whether she died in the back seat or was moved there after death.

The husband is in the Army and has a solid alibi, BTW. The person who posted the Craiglist ad is a local doctor. LEOs removed items from his home before the autopsy results came out. Normal procedure would be to remove any prescription or illicit drugs from the home to match in tox screens on the deceased. In addition to the possibility of a natural death, perhaps she ingested something at the doctor's home that led to her death. Since there were no obvious signs of trauma and she was 9 months pregnant, this will likely come down to further pathology tests on cell tissues and blood analysis.

Well if there is no trauma it sounds like it could be natural causes. Or ingestion of some poisonous substance. Hopefully the tox screen will tell.

So, the last known contact was by phone with her mom, saying she wasn't feeling well. Now her cell phone is missing?

Interesting,

Ballman's cell phone, which is missing, was traced to Hampsted Village, which included the area where he car was eventually found and a pond, according to investigators. A dive team had searched the pond, looking for clues about her disappearance.

PSSSSSS...............

Ok. so the witness who located the car said there had been at least one other car or set of tires used in close proximity to where Deanna's car with her body were located. An accomplice?

Wilcox had been outside about 10:45 the night before -- when the moon shone overhead, lighting the trees -- and had not seen the car. The grass around the car was long in places, and had been matted down by at least one other set of tires, Wilcox said.
"There's been another vehicle in there," he said.

To me, obviously a very suspicious situation still.
Hopefully they are able to figure out the cause of death eventually.

Well, remember from one of the above links, her mom, I believe was the one she called and said she didn't feel well. Then the mom heard a woman's voice, (arguing or something), and they were cut off. Now, the victim shows up deceased and her phone is missing. The witness who located her car said there was also ANOTHER vehicle at the scene as indicated by tire prints left.

:maddening:

From Fran's link...

police records show officers have responded to the home where she cleaned 11 times in recent years and that some of the calls involved incidents with women.

WBNS said it learned on three occasions women complained of altercations with the doctor who lives in the house. Two of the women claimed to have first contacted the doctor on Craigslist, the station reported.

:what:

This has gotten beyond suspicious!!

The call made by Breanna to her mother getting disconnected while hearing another woman's voice in the background ...

now Breannna's cell phone is missing ...

signs of tire tracks from another vehicle being in the tall grass where Breanna's car was found ...

the number of time LE responded to that address for incidents, some with women ... including the use of hiring through Craig's list ...

And now we learn that a warrant authorizing the search of the doctor's house has been sealed by a judge!!

The home, on Turner Close in the Hampsted Village subdivision, is about 5 miles from where 23-year-old Deanna Ballman's body was found, and not far from where Ballman's cellphone company tracked her phone.

The Delaware County sheriff's office would not say how the home might be connected to Ballman's disappearance, and the warrant authorizing the search has been sealed by a Franklin County judge.

This case is crazy, but all I can say is I think there's close to a 0% chance foul play, of some type, is not involved here.
