After 42 hours of searching underwater and along rough terrain without any clues, police say they think the disappearance of Christopher Marks, the 12-year-old Affton boy who went missing Sunday night, may be "nothing more sinister than a sad tragic drowning."

Rest in Peace, Christopher....
May you R.I.P. Christopher, sweet boy
Rest in peace Christopher
RIP Christopher, this is such a tragedy.
The Meramec is a very deceptive and dangerous river. It has sudden drop-offs in depth and is full of dangerous swift undercurrents, whirlpools, etc. Its full of underwater springs and caves that make the current very tricky. You don't realize you're in trouble until its too late to get out.
I think it was last year that 5 boys drowned on a church outing, just a few miles from that spot. Two boys were wading and got into trouble. Other kids and adults went in to get them and three of them drowned as well.
So sad another young boy is lost. If you're ever visiting that river, don't swim in it.
Previous article explaining that Combs gave all of the boys alcohol during their "outing" and that Chris had been drinking when he drowned.Criminal charges in the case of the 12-year-old boy who drowned in the Meramec. The St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office charged the step dad with 7 misdemeanor counts of child endangerment. Only on Fox, the victim`s grandmother spoke to KTVI reporter Chris Hayes.
Lisa Miskimon said, “[Todd Combs'] culpability of what went down that day at the Meramec to me is unforgivable.”
During the search for 12-year-old Marks, his sister told reporters about the drinking.
Christopher Marks grandmother says they’ve heard from kids who were with Step-Dad Combs that August 5th weekend, reporting that he bought them Bud Light, Captain Morgan rum and a malt liquor called 4 Loko.
Todd Combs, 42, of the 7800 block of LaBelle Street in Affton, was charged Wednesday for providing alcohol to his 12-year-old stepson before the boy's drowning death in the Meramec River. He also is charged with providing alcohol to six other minors during an Aug. 5 outing at Pacific Palisades Conservation Area near Eureka.
