On Wednesday, July 18 at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff's office responded to the Sherwood Forest Hotel in Garberville in regards to an abandoned vehicle. When deputies arrived they learned the vehicle had been parked at the motel for three days and did not belong to any of the motels occupants.

His wife must be so worried.

she mentioned he may be having medical issues.

I imagine they have checked local hospitals?

why was he at the hotel near his home... Does anyone know?

He was last seen July 16th. (by family members)

That is about two weeks ago.

Is there a reason for the delay in reporting him missing?

In the first picture he looks quite ill, but the second shows him appearing much healthier. Is there a chance he was facing a grim prognosis and disappeared with the intent of taking his own life ?

Rest in Peace Mr. Banfill

I just ran across this thread. We knew the whole family, including grandparents and uncles, years ago when Chris was a little guy. Good people. Sadly, both of Chris's parents have since passed away, much too soon. :(

Stories and an obituary to finish off the thread.

Thank you for adding a bit of a personal touch to Chris' story. Cases like this make me sad thinking of his feelings at the time that this happened. The reporting on the stories is just so blunt and lacking of emotion. Even the smallest bit of a personal touch makes their lives seem less sad.
