I think his NOK is already aware of his death. Here is an obit for his brother who passed away in 2011 http://www.grayfuneralhome.com/visitations/View.php?id=1417. It says that Mr. Brotherton was deceased.

I'm sure you guys have already done this, but in that obit, if you click in the guest book, you have the option to email. I clicked on one and it brought up a Yahoo email address.
