I'd like to know more about why his nephew didn't report him missing. It appears his work alerted LE, but I'm not sure about that. The nephew is a minor, so be very careful about what you post. When I say I wonder why the nephew didn't report him missing, I'm wondering if he was told his uncle was somewhere else and was coming back.

I wonder who reported the vehicle missing? Why report a vehicle missing and not a person? I wonder if it was a work vehicle, so his work also reported that missing/stolen? I also wonder where on his 5-acre property his vehicle was found. Was it concealed at all? Very interesting...

Oh no! He looked like a really nice guy in his pic and I was really hoping he was just hanging out elsewhere and would be found safe.

    Rest in peace, Gary

Johnathan Stuart Baker, 17, of Waterloo, pleaded no contest to first-degree manslaughter for the death his uncle, Gary Douglas Baker, 69, of Waterloo.
    http://www.gazettetimes.com/news/loc...9bb2963f4.html

Linn County Circuit Court Judge DeAnn Novotny sentenced Johnathan Baker to 10 years in prison for lthe first-degree manslaughter death of his uncle Gary Baker, a former Corvallis businessman...

Neighbors and family members told investigators that Gary Baker, 69, was an entrepreneurial businessman, who was working as a financial adviser.

They also said Baker “was a strict, demanding man who expected accountability, self-discipline and self-reliance from his nephew.” But Eder said some characterized the elder Baker’s actions as too harsh, or as examples of “tough love.”
