Sgt. Paul Edwards of the Bangor Police Department told the station the deaths are suspicious and that police need to talk to witnesses.

Around 3:30 a.m., a local radio announcer called 911 after discovering the car fire while on her way to work.

"It was so fully engulfed when I saw it," Kat Walls said. "There was lots of popping and small booms. It was hard to tell it was a car at times because it was so engulfed.”

Two men convicted in the August 2012 drug deal gone bad that left three people dead and their bodies burned beyond recognition will spend the rest of their lives behind bars.

Randall Daluz, 37, of Brockton, Massachusetts, was sentenced Tuesday afternoon to life in prison on three counts of murder and 20 years on an arson charge, to be served concurrently. A few hours earlier, Nicholas Sexton, 34, of Warwick, Rhode Island, was sentenced to 70 years in prison on one count of murder to be followed by 20 years in prison on one count of arson...

Anderson said that the evidence showed that Sexton was angry with Borders for going to another drug supplier. “When the defendants picked up Dan Borders, Nicolle Lugdon and Lucas Tuscano came along for the ride,” the judge said. “I believe that Borders was shot first and Tuscano was killed because he was a witness.”

Lugdon was alive in the car with Sexton and Daluz and two dead bodies for at least an hour, while the two men drove around “deciding what to do with her.” Anderson said he believes she probably was hysterical and begged for her life.

No new trial for RI man convicted in car fire deaths

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court says Nicholas Sexton of Warwick will not receive a new trial. He is serving a 90-year prison sentence for killing one of the three people who were found dead in Bangor.

The same court last year affirmed the 2014 murder and arson convictions of Randall Daluz of Brockton, Massachusetts. He was tried with Sexton and is serving three life terms.
