A Dothan man told the court he believed he didn’t receive a fair trial just before he received a 624-year prison sentence Tuesday for the repeated rape and sodomy of a woman during a kidnapping.

Mark Anthony Beecham, 25, testified on his behalf at his sentencing hearing held before Circuit Court Judge Kevin Moulton...........

“This is one of the rare cases where we get to see the face of evil,” Smith said. “He’s a serial rapist.”............

Houston County Circuit Court Judge Jerry White has already sentenced Beecham to a 100-year prison term for the rape and sodomy of another woman during the burglary of her home.

Moulton ordered the 624-year prison term to run consecutive with any other sentence he was already serving for a total of 724 years in prison.

Beecham has also already been convicted of sexual battery and kidnapping in Florida, where he received a 20-year prison sentence.

Glad this will never have any sort of freedom ever again. Too bad he isn't happy with his sentence....what did he think he'd get...probation? NOT

Wait a minute-he was 19 at the time of the assault he committed that earned him the 600+ year sentence. He had just been sentenced to 100 years for another rape he committed prior to THIS one and he was sentenced to 20 years for the rape before that in FL....he served 6 of those 20 years apparently.

So the 624 year sentence applies to the 2006 rape/sodomy. When were the other offenses committed? We need a time line on this man-no way he just sprung from the earth and started raping women in his late teens.

Thanks for the questions, believe09...did a little more checking and found that the 100 year sentence was also for a Dothan rape in 2006 when he was 19, but the Fl. kidnapping/rape was in early 2007. I imagine with all this there must be a juvenile record also...

Beecham has already been sentenced to 100 years in connection with the sexual attack on another Dothan woman in 2006 and is currently serving a 20 year prison sentence for rape and kidnapping of a college coed in Tallahassee which occurred in early 2007. In all, Beecham is serving 744 years behind bars.

Beecham was brought to Dothan earlier this year to stand trial on the two cases here but is expected to be returned to a Florida prison shortly.
