I can't even imagine what that poor mom is going through right now. I hope Bryce is returned safely to his family. It sounds like they have a good lead on who the abductor is, so hopefully it will all end well.
I wanted to tell the book thief many things, about beauty and brutality. But what could I tell her about those things that she didn't already know? I wanted to explain that I am constantly overestimating and underestimating the human race-that rarely do I ever simply estimate it. I wanted to ask her how the same thing could be so ugly and so glorious, and its words and stories so damning and brilliant.

Channel 4 Action News' Sheldon Ingram reported that police believe the woman bought her scrubs earlier in the day at the Life Uniform store at the corner of Forbes Avenue and McKee Place.

The store manager said a woman purchased a black scrub top with the UPMC letters on it for $16.19.

"UPMC can confirm that there was an infant abduction this afternoon at Magee-Womens Hospital as the infant's family was preparing to leave following discharge," hospital spokeswoman Susan Manko said in a statement. "The baby was taken by a woman who is not believed to be a UPMC employee

She was reportedly wearing black UPMC scrubs and pink shoes. The woman reportedly bought the scrubs earlier today from a nearby Life Uniform store. The clerk says the woman came in at 9:05 a.m. and said that she needed a scrub top for training. She gave the name of “Titation Moore.” She paid with cash and left.

Channel 11's Cara Sapida reported that police took a woman away from a Wilkinsburg home in handcuffs. Police told Sapida that they believe the woman lives at the home.

Channel 11's Vince Sims spoke to a woman who said she is the missing baby's grandmother. She said the child's name is Bryce Coleman.
"Someone came into the hospital and claimed to be my daughter's sister and took her newborn baby she just had," said Charmaine King. "Somebody got my grandson. Please return my baby."

The baby's emergency alert ID tag had been removed about 12:15 pm and the woman was last seen on the maternity floor about 1 p.m.

A "be on the lookout" alert has been issued for local police departments, but an Amber Alert has not sent to the public.

Police went to a house on Laketon Road in Wilkinsburg and took a woman into custody for questioning. She has not been publicly identified, and she wore a towel over her head as she left the home.

Goodness, how horrible. Hospitals are sooo very careful now with newborns. It would be almost impossible to get out of our hospital with a baby.

BTW, you can't even get into the maternity unit without showing your ID and the family allowing you in. There is one way in and one way out and its heavily guarded with armed officers. Even nurses can't take the babies out of their mothers' rooms until they show their official ID.

I'm not so sure . It sounds like she knew about the security but the same day buying of the uniform makes me wonder why she didn't buy it before to give the store time to forget her .

Fingers crossed little one is found safe very very soon

Yes, this was VERY well planned. Maternity wards are very well secured.

My FIL couldn't get in to see us because he (being the ignorant man that he is) didn't know MY last name (it is different from my husbands). The nurses bemusedly called back and said there was a grumpy bald man out there claiming to be the grandfather and wanted to know if he was allowed to visit.
