My heart is just breaking over this.I almost didnt post it it is just so F'ed up and sad.

Department of Social Services spokeswoman Denise Monteiro said the toddler's mother had been called out of town on an emergency and left her four children in the care of various relatives.

Prosecutors said someone at the house called 911 Dec. 17 and told Springfield police Jeremy had fallen, hit his head and stopped breathing.
Monteiro said paramedics took him - still unconscious - to Bay State Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

Monteiro said the boy's mother returned from the family emergency in time to see her son die.

The 12-year-old was charged with assaulting the little boy and pleaded innocent to the crime in Juvenile Court on Dec. 20. He has been held since then on $10,000 bail in the custody of the state Department of Youth Services.

An adult woman has become the second person charged with the death of a 3-year-old boy, who was allegedly raped and murdered by a 12-year-old. -

Hampden District Attorney William Bennett said the woman, Marisol Alverio, 28, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of murder and reckless endangerment of a child. She is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Springfield District Court.


``The evidence gathered indicates that Marisol Alverio acted with malice in failing to protect the victim from someone whom she knew was abusing Jeremy and in failing to seek medical attention for an obviously injured three-year-old child,'' Bennett said.

She should be thankful I won't be the one sentencing her!!!!!!!

dear God, that darling baby. Oh it just makes me want to cry and cry. Why does so much evil live among us.

This happened right outside of Boston. It's one of the most sickening things I have ever heard. The links have pictures of the poor baby, I almost became ill when I read the story.

``We noticed a change in him,'' said David Velazquez, ex-boyfriend of the woman charged with murder in connection with the tyke's rape and death. He just wasn't acting the same. He was scared.''

With chapped lips, bruises and no appetite, the 3-year-old refused a bath and cowered in a corner when he would usually be eager to play, said Velazquez, who was at his ex-girlfriend's home to pick up Christmas gifts for her six kids now in foster care, including the youngest three he fathered.

A city woman was sentenced to five to nine years in state prison yesterday for failing to prevent the death of a 3-year-old boy who was terrorized, sexually assaulted and fatally beaten by her 12-year-old son, according to the prosecutor.

Marisol Alverio, 30, formerly of 130 Suffolk St., pleaded guilty in Hampden Superior Court to involuntary manslaughter last month, for the Dec. 19, 2004, death of Jeremy Rosario Millan, 3. Alverio, a mother of six, was baby-sitting while the boy's mother, Maria Millan, went to Puerto Rico.
