This name is pretty unique. I think it is interesting that there is a 1981 California birth record for a child with the same name, but the mother's maiden name as a middle name: Link here.
 
Since the maiden name of Rudi's mother seemed uncommon, I searched the last name and found a Josephine Dierba in New York born 1918. I searched Josephine with the last name Lentz born 1918 and found a SSDI for a person with that name who obtained their SS# in New York.

Is it just a coincidence or should I do further research on this link?

If you go in and see the listing, the actual yearbook spells her name Dzierba. The age would be right for her to possibly be a sister or cousin. Last name and location are the only reasons to think so, so far.
 
Philip Insalaco ( that is the correct spelling of his last name, not the 1930 census) is Josephine's uncle but not sure if it is from her mother or father's side.
