The only thing Michelle Garner wants is to know whether her mother was among those killed Thursday morning after a car plowed through a bus stop in the southwest Las Vegas valley.

It has since been confirmed that Johnni Garner was one of those killed at the scene. Although I did not know her, she works at the hospital where I work. I do know several of the nurses in her department who were very worried this morning when she did not show up for work, and they know she takes that bus. It is also one of the hospitals that received 4 of the victims. I'm just so mad tonight I'm beside myself.

Oh my gosh, this is right around the corner.

Four people waiting at the stop were killed: [Gerber] Ayala-Tomasino; Johnni Garner, 49; Margoth Gonzalez, 65; and Hyon Cooley, 47. Hosey, four passengers in his car and three other people at the bus stop also were injured. One of the injured people waiting at the bus stop was paralyzed and another suffered permanent brain damage, according to Rutledge.

Gary Lee Hosey was sentenced to up to 80 years in prison Friday for slamming a vehicle into a west Las Vegas bus stop shelter in 2012, killing four people.

A judge ordered the 25-year-old to serve at least 24 years behind bars.

Hosey pleaded guilty in August to five felony driving under the influence counts in connection to the September 2012 wreck on Spring Mountain Road near Decatur Boulevard.
