MI - Patrick Keough, 38, Livingston County, 14 June 2012

    http://theoaklandpress.com/articles/...b615844887.txt

"Patrick Keough, of Livingston County, walked away from his job at the Farmer’s Insurance office on Cabot Drive in Novi around lunchtime on June 14, according to Novi Police Detective Sgt. Matt Conquest."

It sounds like they have a reasonable idea of where he is/what happened, but I don't understand why they think less foliage on the trees will help find him. If anything, won't it further camouflage a body?

He had a caught a ride to work so he didn't have a car there.

Patrick took a walk during his lunchtime back on June 14th, and he hasn’t been seen since...

    Bank account(s) untouched.

Amanda, thank you for putting up this thread. I meant to last night when I heard it on the news and got sidetracked.

Why has it taken so long for LE to inform the public he was missing? Last night they didn't mention a journal. I don't know why at this point they would even say there is a possibility he is alive unless they know he had squirreled some money away or had talked to someone about plans to leave.

Seems like they don't suspect that:

Conquest said there is “nothing suspicious or criminal in regards to (Keough’s) disappearance.”

“There is a possibility Mr. Keough has not passed away, that he basically just wanted to walk away from his situation,” Keough said.

“He did have some personal problems, but he left behind a wife and kids that he cared about very much.”

Police searching for Patrick Keough, a missing father of 4 from Howell
    September 18, 2012

snipped...Novi Police say they have been investigating the 39-year-old’s disappearance since that day.

They say they checked his bank accounts; they haven’t been touched.

They found no evidence of foul play.

Since that day he went missing about 14 weeks ago, they have found no solid leads.

for those not familiar with michigan (I am a michigander)
Novi is about 30 minutes from where he lived in Howell.

(and a little o/t aside on Novi: the town got it's name from the train station... in was in roman numerals: number six...: NO. VI so the town became NOVI)

He lists his job title as -- Litigation Representative

eta: Trying to figure out - is the role of a litigation rep the same as an insurance adjuster?

if so, imho, Patrick could have ruffled some feathers.

I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that this hasn't made the news prior to now because they suspect that he took his own life in those woods near to his work. However, they haven't found a body/proof of their idea yet, so now they're asking the public for help.

This is literally right around the corner from my work. I'm quite tempted to drive past the area in the next couple of days if nothing turns up.

My boyfriend will think I'm officially off my rocker then, I imagine. :P

This link has a little more information, as far as what he was wearing when he went missing (hate that phrase, by the way):

"Family members say Keough is on medication but may have stopped taking it and there is a possibility that he could be between Novi and Howell. Keough is described as a white male of medium build with grayish black hair standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red button down shirt and khaki pants."

Google images of the area (13 mile & Haggerty) are from 2007...i get the feeling there's been a lot of construction since then - changes to the landscape.

I think the building his office is in wasn't even built at the time of those google images.

amandab - do i have that right?

If he left for home (on foot or otherwise for that matter) from his office he likely would have gone south to 12 mile....fwiw.
