"Internet Black Widow" charged with murderThe woman nicknamed the "Internet Black Widow" for her ability to persuade grieving widowers to marry her has been charged with attempted murder in Nova Scotia.
Melissa Weeks, 77, is also charged with attempting to poison her husband under Section 245 of the Criminal Code, known as "administering a noxious thing." She was scheduled to appear in Sydney provincial court on Tuesday.
Her current husband, a recent widower, became violently ill just days after the couple married.
She sounds like such a lovely old lady, doesn't she?
Here is a link to an earlier piece...a timeline of her crimes.
The last item in the timeline (2009) was that she lived alone in Nova Scotia and had so far made good on a promise to stay out of trouble.
Obviously that didn't stick! Lock this woman up for good. (I can't believe she only got 6 years for drugging and running over a previous husband.)Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
Therefore, send not to know, for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.

She served two years for manslaughter for killing a previous husband? All righty then.
I frankly don't understand sentences like that.
It's like a slap on the wrist.Just my opinion

this quote from a former victim got me:
"She's a nice woman, she treated me all right until she started giving me drugs."

She certainly is a Black Widow. I can see her being showcased on Investigation Discovery's "Deadly Women" one of these days. How she got away with it so long is beyond me. She WILL kill again. It's like a compulsion with her that she can't resist.Where is Sky Metalwala???

The 78-year-old woman nicknamed the Internet Black Widow for her ability to persuade grieving widowers to marry her was sentenced to 3½ years less time served for administering a noxious thing and failing to provide the necessaries of life for then husband Fred Weeks...
Weeks, a thin, gray-haired man, sat several rows back on the other side of the court watching. There was no victim impact statement.
